Reading this book is as if she is sitting right next to you telling stories. Even though she is no where near stopping her career, what is said so far is something to admire and her passion is something to look up to. This is a must read to anyone who is a Rhoda Rooter or just looking for a new friend. You will definitely find one in Valerie.

Love the stories in this book and feel as though Valerie and Rhoda are cool new friends for me to meet. I only recently discovered Rhoda the series due to the fact that I wasnt born until about 6 years after it ended but, love it and love Valerie and this book!

Iam just finshing up reading this book and i really enjoyed reading this. I always liked Valerie Harper and her show Rhoda. Its very sad that she is going through having inoperable brain cancer. She wrote this book before she found out about the cancer. She also fought lung cancer and she lived telling this story. Hopefully she can beat this cancer this time and write another book telling how she beat this horriable diease.

I was looking forward to reading this autobiography, even before the announcement of Valerie's terminal cancer. But of course that situation made her life story even more poignant. One thing that struck me about this bio was the grace she showed everyone who was mentioned. It was so refresthing that she had something nice to say about everyone. Thankfully, this is not a gossipy, tell-all expose; rather it's exactly what a biography is supposed to be, the history of the author's life. Though my favorite part was the "Rhoda" years, I enjoyed the entire book, found it informatiave, and I highly recommend it.

I ordered ths e book, for my nook, because in the past, i have watched Rhoda, and found her to be very entertaining, and funny. I truly enjoyed her...and now that she has terminal Cancer, I found it more interesting to read about her, and how brave she is to come out in public and share with us, how she is trying to live her life to the end, full of love, life..and continue to entertain us, to the end. God Bless her,

Your heart has to go out to Valerie, knowing what she is facing and the fact that she has been able to put herself out there and give us all the story of her life as it unfolded to this point, is a true compliment to the woman Valerie is. My heart goes out to her and her family, and I hope that she finds true peace. God bless you, Valerie.
