Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The wonderful world of I Spy is now available to preschoolers—just in time for Easter! This board book features all sorts of bunnies, from old-time dolls to bunny clouds to bunny masks. Kids are given picture clues to help them find all of the bunnies as well as various other objects. The photos for each spread have been compiled from other I Spy books, and the transitions among them are smooth. The photos are busy enough to present a challenge but smartly scaled down for a young audience. I Spy Little Bunnies is the perfect gift for Easter baskets and a great way to keep your little bunny happy!
Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
Three books just right for Easter baskets come in fun formats. The board book I Spy Little Bunnies teams author Jean Marzollo's original rhymes with Walter Wick's photographs from previously published I Spy books with a focus on bunny masks, blocks and stuffed toys. Children's Literature
In a rhyming text, author Marzollo challenges kids to find objects in the larger pictures. In every case there is a bunny somewhere in the picture. My favorite is "A soft bunny cloud, and a high-flying kite." Kids will see and name lots of objects and caregivers will be able to praise their sharp-eyed little bunnies when they find all of the named objects. The pictures are a compilation of photographs taken from books in the "I Spy" series for older kids and used in this board book aimed at a much younger audience. 2001, Scholastic, $6.99. Ages 2 to 5. I Spy Little Bunnies

ISBN 0439785359 - Always a fan of Where's Waldo type books, I had high hopes for the I Spy series of board books for toddlers. My only concern was that the level of detail might be too high and a bit overwhelming for little ones. I didn't need to worry - they're everything I'd hoped for. One page tells you what to look for, with a picture to guide you, and the facing page has a photograph to hunt for those items in. A drum, a football, a squirrel - and lots of bunnies! - are among the things you must find. Once you've found all of those, you can search for other things, too! The photographs are photographs - not illustrations this is a nice touch in books for children who usually get cartoon-y images in their books. The pictures (by Walter Wick) are really well-done, with some detail to hide the items you're searching for, but not so much detail that those items are too hard to find for little ones. The book is sturdy enough to stand up to many, many readings and thick pages are easy for little fingers to handle. (copyright, Anna Ligtenberg, 2008)
