All Music Guide - John Duffy
Stunningly attractive, angel-voiced Brit songstresses always seem to be in good supply, but Leona Naess' heralded debut Comatised promised to be so much more. She proves with her second disc that "Charm Attack" was by no means the limit of her impressive pop abilities.

    My Favorite CD

Leona Naess is an incredibly well reviewed, charming, oft overlooked pop singer-songwriter, with a style that is much more than just pop. On her second album she takes on a slightly retro sound, but her lyrics and her tracks are much more grounded and self-assured than her more starry, dreamy debut. The music is not hard to enjoy, the beats are catchy, the lyrics both deep but singable, and it is by far my favorite album. Those unfamiliar with Naess may initially catch on to songs such as "Blue Eyed Baby" and "All the Stars" which have more of a pop sensibility. But delving further into the album the deliciously romantic "Sunny Sunday" heartwrenching "Promise to Try" and the sultry cocktail stunner "Serrenade" will surely woo you. Naess has a feather light voice, yearning, scratchy, but perfectly flawed with a huge dose of emotion. She needs to be recognized.
