Overview

For the Abbott siblings, the Green Mountain state has always been an idyllic place to call home. But it isn’t until they open themselves up to love that they’ll truly discover how fulfilling life can be…

Almost seven years after losing her husband in Iraq, Hannah Abbott Guthrie isn’t sure she’s ready—or able—to move on, but the attentions of a lifelong friend are making her think about it for the first time. The memory of the sweet kiss she shared with Nolan Roberts hasn’t strayed far from her thoughts, but she also fears that pursuing something with him would mean betraying her husband’s memory.

Nolan has loved Hannah for years, but he’d been giving her the space she needed to heal from her devastating loss. Now, when an opportunity arises to show her how he feels, Nolan can’t resist, but he knows earning her love will take more than a kiss. Somehow he has to prove to Hannah that finding love twice in a lifetime is possible—and well worth risking her heart.

Contemporary powerhouse Force sensitively introduces love to a war widow in the second Green Mountain contemporary (after All You Need Is Love). It’s been seven years since Hannah Guthrie’s charismatic husband, Caleb, died in Iraq. She is tentative about moving forward with her life, despite being aware that longtime friend Nolan Roberts is waiting for her. What will be the reactions from Caleb’s parents, her family, and the townspeople of Butler, Vt. if she begins to live again? Nolan was close friends with Caleb, and his feelings for Hannah have grown from friendship to love as he’s watched her bravely recover from her loss. When Nolan finally sees signs that Hannah is opening up to the idea of new relationships, he fights for her, despite not believing he is good enough for her. Hannah and Nolan’s story starts with serious, sad issues, and their chemistry and relationship are genuine and passionate enough to pull them through. (June)

I Want to Hold Your Hand by Marie Force, is the 2nd book in her

I Want to Hold Your Hand by Marie Force, is the 2nd book in her Green Mountain series. I have not read the first book in this series, but it did not matter, as it read perfectly as a standalone. However, I loved this book, and I will be going back to the first book, not to mention continue to read this series. I Want to Hold Your Hand is a beautiful heartwarming contemporary romance of two people bonded by their long friendship, and the love of someone lost forever.

Hannah Abbot Guthrie lost her husband Caleb 7 years ago in Iraq. Her family, friends, her dog Homer, and the entire town have watched over Hannah all these years. Nolan Roberts is our hero, and a longtime friend of Hannah and Caleb. Nolan has always cared about Hannah, and a few years after Caleb’s death, he began to realize how much he cared. Hannah always depended on Nolan, if she needed something fixed, but that is what friends are for, and Hannah has a lot of friends. Hannah finally agrees to have dinner with Nolan, but when he comes to pick her up, she is holding Homer, as he is slowly dying, his heart is giving out. All of Hannah’s big family arrives in time, before Homer dies, to share the grief, since Homer was a huge part of all of their lives, not to mention Caleb’s.

What follows is a story of being able to get past a tragedy that effected them all; for everyone to move on with their lives; for a young woman to be able to rise up to fall in love again, and for a young man to finally be able to express his love after years of being patient and understanding.

Hannah was a wonderful heroine, as she was strong, caring, and very loving. It was wonderful to watch her slowly realize that she needed to move on from Caleb’s death, opening her eyes to how patient Nolan has been, and how much he loved her. Marie Force wrote this so well, allowing us to watch through tears of happiness and sorrow, as this story played out. I do not want to give spoilers, only to say that this was a wonderful romance; at times very sad, at times humorous and so much fun, and at times very sexual and steamy. I Want to Hold Your Hand is not to be missed, as Marie Force has written a fabulous story that pulls all your emotions throughout.

What a boring story. I was so sick of hearing about St. Caleb!!

What a boring story. I was so sick of hearing about St. Caleb!! And Hannah was boring. I don't think she was a strong character at all. Nolan deserved a strong-willed woman. I skipped many parts.

    Tissues Required

This book grips your heart from the moment go. Being a wife of a retired service member, I could only imagine Hannah's struggles through this book. Not only Hannah but everyone in their "family" struggles on how best to move on when someone near & dear passes away. Hannah is such a sweet character and you want to hold her hand throughout this whole book. P.S. There are some sneaky men in the Abbott Family!

I honestly don¿t know where to begin. I can tell you that this

I honestly don’t know where to begin. I can tell you that this book has got to be one of the best books I have ever read from Marie Force and that is saying something because they are all SOOOOO good! The first couple chapters had me crying not only because of Hannah losing her husband and how hard that is for her but then finding the dog that her and her husband shared together dying. Nolan was a friend of Hannah’s and her husband but 2 years after his death he started to have feeling for his friend’s wife. Nolan is very patient with Hannah as she doesn’t want to have anyone in her life again because she is still so in love with her husband, even after being gone for 7 years. This book opens up so many new other romantic stories that I am sure will come in other books but. WOW… this book had me on an emotional roller coaster (from crying to laughing to crying again…) Way to go Marie you did a great job on this book. Now only if I didn’t’ have to wait until November to read the 3rd book in the series!! ¿

    Another Winner!!!

Anything Ms. Force writes goes to the top of my "to be read" pile... Her stories are well developed, her characters are people next door and there is always enough substance to the book to keep you turning pages... After her husband was killed in battle seven years ago Hannah Guthrie is starting to feel the need to "move on"... But in the small Vermont town where her family and her late husbands family live and where she has been "the poor young widow" for so long she not only doesn't know how but she also knows that Nolan has waited for her for a long time and she doesn't know how to reach out to him either... Meddling family members and lots of friends make this journey one of sadness and joy... Ms. Force brings a perfect amount of detail to each story and you will enjoy this book as two wonderful young people find their way to each other... Loved It!!!

    Awesome book!

Hannah and Nolan story was a great read. It was a little hard to get into it because of the sadness in the first few chapters but it was wonderful. Marie Force is a great writer. I can't wait until the next Green Mountain Book to come out.

I was disappointed in the story. Too slow . It was always about poor Hannah.  When Hannah and
Nolan fell in love and he told her about his passion for auto racing. She freaked out at his race. The
story should have centered about their love how they worked together  on whether he still drove or
went back to being on the crew.  It was all about her. What about what he wants.  Sunny KL

    Yet another amazing book!

Marie does it yet again! This book did take me reach for the tissue box more than the rest of her books, and with every tear there was also a smile. I want to go to this little town in Vermont and find a Nolan of my own. Icannot wait to see what she has in store for Colton,Hunter and the rest of the Abbot family!

    Not What I Expected

Young widow finds love with dead husband's good friend. Sounds simple and "been there done that," but this book was so much more. In no way could I fathom Hannah's loss or what it is like to be a widow and 28 or to be 35 and have doubts about how to move on, but I sure felt those feelings while reading about Hannah. Parts of this book were gut-wrenching. I needed tissues and dark glasses to hide my puffy eyes. I also laughed out loud several times.

I don't know why I was surprised, since I am a huge fan of Marie Force. Her books are auto-buys for me. She does a nice job with her series books. This book stands alone, but I enjoyed revisiting the rest of Hannah's family. Can't wait to see who falls in love next.
