Overview

Blair, Serena, Nate, Dan, and Vanessa went off to live their lives.

Now they're coming home for the holidays.

A lot can change in a few months . . . but some things never do.

It finally happened: we went to college. We started over. No one knows who we've coveted, what we scored on the SATs,where our parents live, or when we became debaucherous. We've learned new things, made new friends, and maybe even met the loves of our lives. We've changed.

Or at least, some of us have. But old habits are hard to break-especially when faced with your former besties and former flames. With everyone back in the city for the holidays, this break is guaranteed to be filled with makeups, breakups, and shakeups.

Lucky for you, I'm here to report all the scandal as it happens. Let the games begin!

You know you love me,

xoxo Gossip Girl

I have read all the Gossip Girl books and was desperately waiting for this book to come out so I could finally find out who Nate picked: Serena or Nate. Well that didn't happen. The book starts out with them all coming home for their first Christmas break and Nate and Blair get back together, but then Serena comes in to the picture and makes things complicated, so Nate and Blair break up AGAIN. Then in section 2 of the book they come home for their second Christmas break and Serena and Nate get together, but of course, Nate decides that he still loves Blair. So Serena and Nate break up but Blair decides that she doesn't want Nate anymore (but really she does) Then in section 3 of the book they come home for their 3rd Christmas break and it gets really confusing. Blair and Chuck are together, Serena and Dan are back together, and Jenny and Nate are back together. Then in the final section of the book, Blair and Chuck break up, Serena and Dan break up, and Jenny and Nate break up. The final scene in the book is Nate texting Serena and Blair and you think that he is finally going to make a decision but then Serena and Blair leave Nate and decide to go to Europe together. I liked this book a lot but I felt like it was the same story line that we have been reading in the last 11 books. I wanted Nate to finally pick somebody, but instead it ended like all the other books in the series. I would recommend reading this book but don't expect any kind of closure because there isn't any. The last two pages of the book made it seem like there was going to be another book so maybe they are trying to drag out the Serena, Blair, and Nate story line for a couple more books.

Fun, light, and silly. Buy it for a pallete cleanser, but know it is exactly the same couples hooking up and breaking up that we have seen before. Redundant in the extreme, but (mostly) entertaining nonetheless. 330 pages of shameless brand name dropping await you.

This is definetly one of the best of the series. The story revolves around Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, Nate Archibald, Dan Humphrey, Vanessa Abrams, and Chuck Bass as they all come home to NYC for the holidays. The story is told by the mysterious and aloof "Gossip Girl," and her blog entries that are scattered through the book. A good, wholesome book that summarizes all the solutions of previous problems, and really shows the reader what kind of life a privliged Upper East Side teenager lives. Worth the money, but only if you have read the previous books, or else you won't get most of what's going on in the book.

I was eager to read the possible closure to the fantastically addictive Gossip Girl series.I found this long novel at first tedious but as i progressed along with the characters,I realized how necessary and significant the amount of pages were. The book is divided into four parts, each part telling how much our fave characters have changed and reunite them either during Christmas and New Years Eve.I felt that the characters like Serena,Blair,Chuck especially,Dan and Vanessa have matured with series. They are able to see life and the future much more clearer and I loved that Cecily was able to convey that.Still this book was fun and outrageous and brought back old memories fro our fellow Upper East Siders.Somehow,if you have been reading and following the plot since book one, you'd feel as complete as the characters feel at the end of this story, well only for some,Nate still is as confused as ever.So through all the make-ups,break-ups and shake-ups in this novel, the characters remain unbelievably true to their characters.Cecily has cemented her place as a author to remember for a long time with such a fun and addictive series. As a die-hard GG series fan, i loved it!
