    Disappointing

I was very excited about getting this book. After losing our beautiful cocker spaniel a few years ago, I was searching for something that would give me comfort. When I read the description for this book, I thought I had found what I was looking for. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I don't mean to discourage anyone who has been comforted by reading this book. But it was a complete waste of time & money for me. It droned on and on and on about this St Francis character, but never really got to the point. There seemed to be more concern about St Francis than anything else. Whenever any scripture was referenced, this St Francis guy was mentioned again. I wanted to know if GOD said in anything about the subject in His Word. But I never really got that. I kept waiting for a moment of enlightenment, but it never came. Unless you are a big St Francis fan, you're probably not going to get much out of this book.

    Not recommended - jejune

This book with the cute cover is cute throughout, if you're about five years old. I was so disappointed with the immature writing (merely a religious tract) and brevity (gratefully short, considering the lack of substance) that I returned the book.

I found this book very intelligent, thoughtful, and helpful foll

I found this book very intelligent, thoughtful, and helpful following the unexpected death of our beloved dog. The author doesn't hit you over the head with doctrine or theology. He doesn't pretend to speak with absolute certainty about things we cannot know for sure. But his reflections on scripture and life experiences suggest ways of looking at the place of animals in creation and in the life that is to come that I found truly reassuring and comforting..

I loved this book. When my guinea pigs passed away I was heart broken, and I was looking for a book to give me some comfort and read about animals being in heaven. I felt better and it was comforting to hear about how God loves animals and how they have a place in heaven. I have given this book as a gift to others.
