There is virtually no information about the performances provided in the liner notes to this album. Other than Nancy Wilson, none of the other players are identified. It's apparent that I Wish You Love pulls together cuts made at different times with different groups, and these songs never found their way to the album that was being made at the time. It also sounds as if these sessions were done at widely different times throughout Wilson's Capitol career, and were backed by a variety of groups. It also sounds as if these sessions were done at widely different times throughout Wilson's Capitol career, and were backed by a variety of groups. On some songs, like "I'm Gonna Laugh You Out of My Life," her voice sounds very young. On others, like "I Wish You Love," she is considerably more mature. That these are cuts from different sessions is supported by the very short playing time provided on this CD: a little over 23 minutes, or about two-and-a-half minutes a tune. On "I Wish You Love," Wilson is backed by a medium-sized ensemble, which has a very good tenor sax player. "Guess Who I Saw Today?" is done in a small group setting with prominent piano and guitar. Wilson is working with a big band on the tunes "People Will Say We're in Love" and "On the Street Where You Live." Sound vibes work complements Wilson's slow tempo version of "In Other Words." The highlight of the album is "You Leave Me Breathless," with its excellent vibes and bass work. Contrast this with an overblown arrangement of "You Don't Know What Love Is," replete with strings and tinkling piano. There are plenty of other Nancy Wilson albums available to choose from with much more music on them than this one.

    Nancy Wison has it all

Each rendition leaves me Breathless & wanting to hear more. I have another similar release under the same label with one song not on this release. Done in 1991, the 10 releases encluded as # 7 IN OTHER WORDS minus this release of Fly Me To The Moon.... Either selection is of similar appeal. Her articulation & intonations are unique to her style & not to be missed by any real lover of lyrical expression. My personal favorite is You Don't Know What Love is, followed by Guess Who I Saw Today. The More I See You is another that moves me like few song can. This CD is definitely one NOT to miss. Nancy is a dynamite performer of the highest order who's talent will live on for future generations to savor & emulate. A very rare talent in voice & musical expression, she is the total package among performers of my lifetime.
