    not the best IBS book

I've suffered from IBS for four years, and I can say that this is not the best source of information I've found. I bought this book a year ago trying to figure out more about IBS, and have found better resources since then. while the book does offer useful information about dealing with stress, social situations, and emotional issues surrounding IBS, the dietary information is poor. Many of the suggested foods are actually triggers for a lot of people with IBS, such as when they suggest eating whole wheat and suggest dairy probably won't be a symptom trigger if it's low fat. For a better idea of a good diet to manage IBS, try books by Heather Van Vorous, an author who suffers from IBS herself.

    Worth every penny!

Having sustained a very healthy lifestyle and a diet of fresh foods rich with fiber for a number of years, three months before my daughter's wedding, I've been struck with a round of IBS. Wearing out my shoes in search of relevant, useful info, most of what I came across included some information with lots of recipies. My search did not yield the well-rounded advice and help I was seeking. Out of desperation for relief, I searched the shelves at my local B&N and was blessed to find this very well-written gem. It's easy to read, easy to understand and most importantly, full of very sound and balanced medical information. You won't be sorry and you'll recommend it to others as I have. Do you body (and mind) a favor and buy this book!
