Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
This book offers solid and useful information to any owner of an Apple iPod. Despite some YA jargon and a grade 8 reading level (Fry Readability), it provides detailed but easily digested information about the latest tech toy of teens and older technophiles: From how to select and purchase an iPod, to anticipating the evolution of future iPods. This little book covers accessories that make an iPod portable (clips, skins, socks, and travel cases), useful (recording to do lists and class lectures, alarm clock docks, book downloads), and fun (games, podcasting). Purple print, illustrations, and photos combine with chartreuse highlights to produce a cool appearance with information as readily accessible as the iPod's click wheel. Author and publisher deserve high marks for getting this wide-ranging book to market while current iPod models are available. 2006, Que Publishing/Pearson Education, Ages 12 up.

Introduction

Why should you get a book about what you can do with your iPod? First, you probably don't know everything about what you can do although you probably think you do. New gadgets and mini-programs are introduced all the time. Second, when you discover something new and cool, you can share it with your friends, making you the iPodMaster. Third, if your parents are hesitant to let you get an iPod, you can convince them by maturely explaining some of the educational stuff available. And finally, you can have even more fun!

As a little preview of what's covered in this book, see whether you know the following:
