A brief introduction describes different ice cream machines and ingredients, and the first half of the book is dedicated to original and often unusual ice creams as well as basics. Recipes range from the rich-Gianduja Chocolate Chunk Gelato-to the refreshing-Boysenberry Buttermilk Sherbet-to the grown-up-Gin & Tonic Ice with Lime. The second half of the work focuses on recipes that utilize homemade or store-bought ice cream to make frozen treats such as sundaes, ice cream pies, and shakes. Fallon shapes ice cream into whimsical plates of spaghetti, baked potatoes, and pizza, all designed to trick the eye, and it is these recipes that make this book a true standout.
