Overview

He's a seventeen-year-old British computer hacker who penetrated the security systems at Fort Knox for a laugh. But the American government was less than amused. Since his prank, gold bars have been landing in the hands of terrorists across the globe.

Now, Carl has found himself in a military prison deep in the Arctic and far off the grid. He's been caged alongside the world's most notorious terrorists, with no one to trust and no end in sight.

Carl Hobbes may not be a criminal mastermind, but if he wants to escape this subzero prison with his life, he'll have to start thinking like one.

IceCore is about a 15 year old hacker named Carl Hobbes. He, by himself, breaks into Fort Knox, just to prove to the country that, even the best defense systems, can indeed be broken in to. What he didn't suspect was that, in the one hour the doors were unlocked, millions of dollars in gold bullion were stolen. Now, he has been taken to a place described only as "the Guantanamo Bay of the North" for questioning, thrown into a cage and treated like a global terrorist. I loved this book from the beginning to the end for all of its twists and turns. I could imagine everything the author, Matt Whyman, described, and in perfect detail, just as he probably intended to express. I would recommend this book for teenagers and adults who love the thrill of the moment and would like to see a bit of the science behind it.
