Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
In a continuation of the Regan Reilly series, the detective's Christmas holiday in Aspen is interrupted by the theft of some high-priced paintings. (June)
Library Journal
Clark's two previous mysteries, Decked ( LJ 7/92) and Snagged (Warner, 1993), sold well in spite of lukewarm reviews. In Iced , intrepid sleuth Regan Reilly encounters murder most foul while vacationing at a swank ski lodge.
School Library Journal
YA-Regan Reilly, private investigator, finds mystery on her Christmas vacation in Aspen, Colorado. She wonders who is stealing the paintings from wealthy owners as she doesn't believe that it's the person the police have accused. Readers know part of the answer, but they don't learn until the climax the surprising identity of the ``Coyote,'' who has been glimpsed throughout as he makes plans to steal from the thieves. This fun, fast-paced novel is a good choice for teens, who will enjoy the wit, the characters, and the modern setting. The text is mainly easy-to-read dialogue and there is plenty of action. Although there are many supporting characters and the chapters shift frequently between them, the plot is simple to follow as the mystery develops.-Claudia Moore, W.T. I now have all of the Regan Reilly series in paperback and #3 was really an exciting read. I stopped watching tv to finish this book. I wish there were more writers out there like Caroll Higgins Clark.

I read Iced after I read some of her more recent novels, like Fleeced, Burned and Hitched. With the exception of Hitched and Laced, I think Carol's earlier books of the Regan Reilly series were better. The suspense and the twists in this novel as compared to the more recent stories are definitely better. If you've been disappointed in her novels lately, try reading this book and Snagged.

This is the first Regan Reilly book I have read and the first book by this author. I enjoyed it so much, I just finished Decked and Snagged. It only took me about a week to read all 3 books! I just purchased Wrecked and can' t wait to start it!

This is my first of this series. Was it a great book? No, not really. Will it become a new favorite? No, probably not. Would I read another? Maybe. It was a pleasant, light read. The characters were engaging enough, I might be inclined to visit them again

I really liked this book. But I have to admit she's not as good as her mother, Mary Higgins Clark.

Thrushtail yowls when she lands on him. He turned and looked at her. "Good one."
