Ridiculous. So short it failed on every level. It could have been a great epic adventure
if he had expanded on the mythology, the dominion, and well, the whole novel.I had no idea i bought 130 page ebook. Disappointed!

I imagine Dane Maddock doesn't get to relax much. Between his business, treasure hunting, solving mysteries and trying to figure out
women, there's not much time to kick back and enjoy a well-deserved holiday. Nevertheless, he's not beyond giving it a shot on a
Christmas trip to Germany with his paramour Jade Ihara.
About the time Bones shows up, Maddock should have figured this would be no normal vacation.
Icefall plugged me back into the lives of my two favorite treasure hunters. As a novella, it's a short read but still fun, with plenty of
adventure centered around historical and legendary clues, and it does a great job of continuing to develop the characters that Wood
has created. From the cover art to a fateful trip to Drekonhas and the forbidding Sternspitze, it has a real Ice Station Zebra vibe. Although
unable to draw out the suspense that MacLean's classic manages (due to length), there is plenty of action and suspense to generate
In my family, you don't get to bring your lady (or men) friends to holiday gatherings unless there is a bit of tenure in the relationship. I
think Maddock and Bonebrake have more than earned their place at the table.

While i understand that this is a short story more than it is a novel i was disappointed how the story progressed and ended. Ive read all four of the Dane books and think this last one should have been shelved until a full novel was written. Maybe intriduce this story 1/4 written as a prologue to the novel so that fans get a taste of whats to come....then write the rest...
I say pass on this one as in my opinion it doesnt do the series justice.
A side note, while all four Dane books need better editing, this story seemed to have significantly more gramatical errors than the other three, and i'm a techie not an english major... posted via nook... no spell check :)

When you begin reading and get into this book, you will wish it was longer. A great story line that keeps you involved to the end. The characters (the good 'ole boys, Dane & Bones) are always on their toes waiting for the next event. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
