Overview

On December 7, 2001, thirty-five-year-old Kimberly Fairchild's world turned upside down when she heard the life-changing words, "You've got cancer."

I'd Give My Left Boob for That ... Oh, Wait, I Already Did details one woman's journey before, during, and after her courageous battle with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, the most common form of breast cancer. With no family history and a fairly healthy life, Fairchild shares how she got past the shocking diagnosis and subsequently relied on laughter and humor to help her through one of the most difficult and darkest times of her life. As she faced new challenges, fears, and physical discomfort, Fairchild describes how her diagnosis affected everyone around her-all in different ways-and how she learned to accept their comforting words and return the favor when they too needed reassurance. From surgery to chemotherapy to reconstructive surgery, Fairchild provides an emotional, sometimes humorous, yet intensely honest portrayal of what it's like to experience breast cancer.

Written with the desire to help others, this eye-opening glimpse into the world of breast cancer shares the compelling story of how an ordinary girl fought the extraordinary fight of her life-and won.

    Amazing!

Kim and I work for the same company, same department, but in different cities. I met Kim for the first time last Friday (9/18/2009) and I felt like I've known her all my life, her energy is wonderful and she is such a beautiful person inside and out. I purchased I'd Give My Left Boob For That...Oh, Wait I Already Did and I could not put this book down.
I cried, I laughed, I felt compassion and I loved Kim as a new friend. I am convinced God has allowed her to go through this journey to help and inspire others, and wow...what a journey and she came through still smiling and encouraging others.
This book is definately a MUST READ whether your going through your own battle or not.

    What an inspirational book!

This book has it all from laughter, to tears, to anger, to happiness. You won't want to put this book down. Kimberly's book (I'd Give My Left Boob For That...Oh Wait I Already Did) about her battle with breast cancer should be a must read for all those who are touched by cancer or know someone already in the battle. A MUST READ!

This truly is the most inspiring book I've ever read. A MUST read!

This is one of the best books I've ever read! I bought this book as Kim's daughter, Brittney works with me and told me her mother had written a book about her life's journey with breast cancer.
I received the book the day before leaving to go on vacation. Got to the airport, got on the plane and started reading. I was so engross in this book, I couldn't believe it when the pilot announced over the intercom "prepare for landing"! Mind you, the flight was 1 hour and 50 minutes long!
This book brought out every emotion in me. I laughed, cried, got angry over Kim's battle with cancer. I rejoiced when she 'kicked' cancer's butt!
Kim has proven without a shadow of doubt that Laughter is the best medicine. Her strength and admiration for life is remarkable. I highly recommend this book!
