Overview

Cammie Morgan is a student at the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, a fairly typical all-girls school-that is, if every school taught advanced martial arts in PE and the latest in chemical warfare in science, and students received extra credit for breaking CIA codes in computer class. The Gallagher Academy might claim to be a school for geniuses but it's really a school for spies.

Even though Cammie is fluent in fourteen languages and capable of killing a man in seven different ways, she has no idea what to do when she meets an ordinary boy who thinks she's an ordinary girl. Sure, she can tap his phone, hack into his computer, or track him through town with the skill of a real "pavement artist"-but can she maneuver a relationship with someone who can never know the truth about her?

Cammie Morgan may be an elite spy-in-training, but in her sophomore year, she's on her most dangerous mission-falling in love.

Editorial Reviews

The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women lives up to its name. Not only does this exclusive boarding school teach advanced language skills and correct deportment; its students also master the arts of tapping phones, hacking into computers, and spying in public places. At school, second-generation Gallagher Girl Cammie Morgan has impeccable credentials: She is fluent in 14 languages and able to kill an assailant in seven different ways. But recently life has dealt Cammie a card that she never anticipated: She has fallen in love with an ordinary boy who knows nothing about her exotic double life. A truly covert romance.

I remember when I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have to Kill you first came out. Picked it up, sounded interesting, but I hate first character narrators who sound too...teenagery. I've had my experiences with them and I wasn't willing to risk my cash on another one. So now, four years later I picked up Heist Society--by Ally Carter, same author of Gallegher Girls series and madly fell in love with her story telling skills. Gallagher Girls series is quite the ride and I'm glad I--twenty years old--picked it up and finally read it. I won't give away anything but each book is full of humor and action. But you can tell that through out the years she started to grasp the whole feel for great story telling--not that the first two books where horrible. Far from it, but the last two books--especially the last one (Only the Good Spy Young) certainly were a crazy ride full of emotion and character development. The first two books had fun humor and introductions to the spy world and what it had to offer and the troubles and duties that came along with it. But they lacked the action, intensity and climatic story that the last two books where equipped with. Either way, I didn't feel like sticking fork in my eye while reading Cam's narrative. Very fluid and fun and simple. As the story progresses and she faces more danger--without her teachers plannings--she grows more mature and aware of what's out there. What she'll have to face one day. If you're looking for a series or just a good fun book, then these books are the right choice. Don't let the long--maybe a tad cheesy (I kinda like it :] ) title fool you. Cam and her gang will steal your friendship and Zach (sigh) will steal your heart. Because they're spies. And thats what they do.

I think this book is really fun. It's definitely a different take on the whole teenage/school book scene than nearly all of the rest of them. I like the way she writes these and her books keep my interest. Well, for the most part, there are a couple of very small segments that are dragged out a bit, but overall they are an enjoyable, fun, cute, funny read. I'd recommend the series to my friends if they hadn't already read them haha :)

I read this book last year, and then I read to the middle of Cross My Heart And Hope To Spy, but then I stopped reading it, 'cause I got bored. But I'm gonna try and read the series again this summer. I finished this book and I am now on to the 2nd book. This book was really great, I gotta say; I mean, really—Ally Carter has definitely made the statement that spies aren't just for guys anymore! (Really—where would James Bond be without some assistance from female spies? Where would Chuck Bartowski be without Sarah Walker? (Chuck, nbc channel four)) This is such a butt-kicking book and I can tell it's going to be a butt-kicking series! I'd Tell You I'd Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You is awesome! 5 stars for this sexy, sweet, butt-kicking read! (I highly reccommend this if you are currently bored. Go ahead, buy it, or at least get the sample!)

This book is fine. It makes me laugh, but not like Sophie Kinsella's books. I love this book, but not how much I love twilight or some books that I am obsses about. I'd tell you I love you but then I'd have to kill you is about Cammie Morgan. She studies in an all girl school, Gallagher Academy. This school is state of the art, why? because it is a school for spies. Falling in love with an ordinary boy who knows she's just an ordinary girl, Cammie starts to face problems that she needs to overcome as soon as possible.

Awesomeness1, i'm sorry to hear that you thought this book was "too light", but I hope you have read the rest of the series. The books escalate in plot as you move through the series. The first two are really light, but then they begin to show Cammie as a girl that's facing more real threats, and some actual "bad guys". Cammie grows in matruity, and you honestly begin to feel more mature in reading these. Anyway, I hope you aren't insulted by my little note, and I really do hope you read the series. Sincerely, A Concerned Fan
