Wilde's scintillating drawing-room comedy revolves around a blackmail scheme that forces a married couple to reexamine their moral standards. A supporting cast of young lovers, society matrons, and a formidable femme fatale exchange sparkling repartee, keeping the action of the play at a lively pace.
A celebrated and feared English ghost is outraged when the new American owners of his haunting place refuse to take him seriously and actually fight back against him.

Not a book but a badly written play.

I enjoy Oscar Wilde, but the editing of this e-book was horrible. I expected more. Since this is play not a story the description is misleading. As for the story, it has more details in it than the movie.
