Desperate, a system of governance was formed based on genetic predisposition. Leaders centered their rule of law and obedience on a strict quasi-religious interpretation of scientific principles. The strife ends, technology advances at a staggering rate and the human race flourishes. Or does it? After years of dividing society along genetic lines, those born into privilege take what they have for granted. However, the lines of separation are not as clear as they wish them to be. One violent act exposes the fragility and dangers of dictated perceptions.

Meet the Author

After years of working in the aerospace industry, my fascination with stories and people's lives led me to study writing. I have a deep respect for how well-crafted writing can both convey a message and hold the reader's interest. The stories I write encompass large themes by bringing them down to the personal level. The people in my stories struggle with the triumphs and failings over their position in life. They face decisions, chances and fates that force them into reactions and hard choices. Putting a story together, whether written, spoken or sung is not a random act; it requires attention to both content and presentation. My hope is that readers will read not only for entertainment, but also to learn and ask further questions.

Wow, this was not what I expected, but I was completely drawn in. A totally engaging and thought provoking story. I hope the author writes more in this series.

    Not very well written

Poorly edited and constructed, this short novel was hard to finish. A novel dealing with social injustice and set in the future but not really engaging. Would not recommend.

    Great Story But...

This was a great story, but the editing was wanting badly. The worst were all the missing words. Then plurals were used instead of singulars. The wrong homonyms were used. Often *your* brain (not the author's) could fill in the right stuff, but not always. This author and his publisher should be ashamed, as the editing was so amateurish that I stopped reading halfway through.

    Good

Really enjoyed this book. The characters were well thought out. The tension between the have and have-nots was riveting. As our technology evolves, the author has brought forth a view that is plausible in our own world. Our knowedge DNA has started the first steps on the road to where it is going to impact what we can and cannot do. After all if smokers can be denied a job, how far-fetched will it be to hire based on genetic inclinations to behavior deemed unacceptable? Then it would be a short road to deciding to segregate those who would be considered inferior. We do it in some way already based on money.

The ending left me wanting more. I'd love to learn more of what happens with Charlie, and would like to see this society overcome the inertia they have created by stifling the larger portion of their own race. To show the ultimate indominability of the human spirit.

    Excellent Book

This was an excellent book. It makes you realize this is happening now to certain extent and could probably get as bad as it is in the book.
