Overview

Imagine you're a beautiful woman, body like a brick house, career driven, could cook like a Southern chef, clean like a veteran maid and sex your man like a porn star. Now imagine being in a relationship with a man who is unapologetically mentally and verbally abusive, disrespectful, AND cheats on you! That's just a brief description of Janae's relationship with Tae.

Tae was absolutely cocky, he no longer cared about hiding his cheating; he figured, if Janae hadn't left him the first time she found out he was cheating, then she probably wouldn't leave him the next...

Most people would dismiss a girl like Janae as stupid and naïve; someone who needed to wake up and realize that there were other men in this world and move on. But when a man has a mental hold on you, for some women, it's not that easy.

Tae robbed Janae of her self-esteem. His constant put-downs and unfiltered disrespect became the norm for her. He frowned at her tears and did as he pleased. His actions forced Janae to compare herself to the women he cheated with and wonder why she wasn't good enough. Eventually, trying to please Tae became her only purpose.

Being a faithful girlfriend was something Janae took pride in. Somehow, she allowed Tae to define her; she felt like she wasn't whole without him. Finally, a series of events helped Janae discover her worth...

Still withering in the wings of her broken relationship, will Janae stay with Tae and believe that he can and will change? Or will she rebel and act upon the old adage, 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em?

    Awesome book!!!

If all men cheat, women shoul to was a book that had me falling asleep with my nook in bed with me and unable the next morning to get ready for work until I finished it. This is a book that will have you laughing one minute and cryig the next. I wanted to reach in and pull Tae out and have a little talk with him. Every women needs to read this book as well as men. It will open up the eyes of some to see how some relationships can really be and how much emotional abuse is worse than physical. I had mixed emotions about the end. I wanted Janae to find the happiness she so wanted and deserved but in a way she did. This book most diffently gets 5 stars from me!!! LaShonda DeVaughn did a great job with this book!!!!!!

    5 star worthy!!!

This was an aw-stastic book!!! There isn't a real word to describe it. The author gets you involved with the characters so much its like you know them personally. Janae was a character you couldn't help but feel sorry for to the point you want to jump into the story and shake her till she wises up. Ms Michelle was that hood mom that everbody knows (she needs to have her own book by the way I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the book yet but when you read it you'll see what I mean). This book deserves more stars actually. I will be reading more from this author.

Two wrongs definitely don't make a right and Janae learned that

Two wrongs definitely don't make a right and Janae learned that lesson the hard way! This book had me so heated and at times I wanted to chunk my Nook across the room! That Tae was like bad news Brown! He will make you want to jump into the book and do him some serious harm! Shonda introduces you to some very interesting and memorable characters like Ms. Michelle. I also liked that she raised awareness to some very important issues! It's a fast paced, edge of your seat, page turner!

    Love it!

The beginning seemed kinda slow at first but I kept reading because I figured it was setting you up for a good ending. It picked up alittle more in the middle and then became a page turner. I knew something was up with a certain somebody arround the middle but I sure NEVER expected that ending! I see alot of people didn't like the end but to me it was perfect. It was real and right on point with everyday reality. (I with-held the last star simply because I had to force myself to read the first 2-4 chapters)

    Dont do it

Okay from the stero-typed black people, to the unlinked , unexplained out of no-where.drama this book is rediculous. The ending didnt make sense, the chick seemed too stupidfor.words, and she didnt even have a friend. I wanted to slit her wrist for her...

In the end save your two dollars.please

    Not a keeer

I was sooooo happy i borrowed this book because if I bought it I would have wanted my money back. There is a lesson to be learned as far as not being a mans doormat, but other than that i felt this book sucked. I won't spoil it for you, but the main female character has lacks common sense among other things. Do like I did and borrow but don't buy it.

I enjoyed this book, but there was no reason for the ending. after so much heartache it would have been nice to have seen Tae happy. I was really disappointed with the ending otherwise I would have rated it a 5.

Wow! This is my second read from this author the first I didn't

Wow! This is my second read from this author the first I didn't really like to well but this one has made me a fan. I think the best part of the book is- the whole thing! If you have ever been in love you can see yourself at some point in this book. Relationships take work, some thrive off of only one person putting in the work. This book made me think about my relationship with my husband. You can never say what won't happen to you or what you would do if your husband did this or that- you have to be grown up and think about the moves you make. I will never forget the message that was passed to me while reading this book. Talk about fiction, mmph! Awesome job to the author!

    Great book, but disappointing

The book was great real page turner, but the end lost me. And I hated the way it ended it was almost like she ran out of time and had to crunch some much at the end. Damn im mad thebook was so good, but feel like I was set up for disapointment.
