This one was not my cup of tea and I felt it had some weaknesses as a story. If you really get into time travel the weaknesses can perhaps be overlooked. Interesting concepts....

Characters are well written. Story has adequate and sometimes humorous details. I really liked it and could easily see sequels from this.

If At First offers a quick and interesting read. Anyone who enjoys stories about time travel should spend the few minutes it takes to read this story. With a prominent author, the writing is far better quality than many other short stories that Barnes and Noble offers.

I didn't think the short story was all that bad. I didn't care for the preview nearly as much and don't think I would buy the full book when published.

A middle school child could write a better short story than this disjointed, over the top failure.

After forcing myself through the 14 page gobbledegoop mishmash of unpunctuated drivil, I couldn't find the courage to attempt the book preview. No thanks, I'll pass

I liked the idea of time travel and changing the known outcomes, alternate universes with all possibilities. But the end was weak and not well thought out. Short 15 Nook pages mean you don't waste too much time.

I give this story more of a 2.5/5 it was just kind of boring yet somewhat interesting at the same time. I thought it was 41 pages long but then it judt randomly ended at page 15 and went into an excerpt for another book by the same author. If your into scifi time travel stories then you might enjoy it but if not, its not really worth your time, even if its free.

Overview
Peter F. Hamilton has proven himself a modern master of epic space opera, carrying the tradition of far-future empire building begun by Heinlein and Asimov into the new millennium. But Hamilton is also a master of the short story, and when he tackles one of science fiction's most enduring themes-time travel-the result is as provocative as it is entertaining. It starts in 2007 with a break-in. The victim: Marcus Orthew, the financial and technological genius behind Orthanics, the computer company whose radical products have delivered a one-two punch to the industry, all but knocking PCs and Macs out of the ring. The perpetrator: a man obsessed with Orthew. Just another simple case of celebrity stalking-or so everyone
