Let me start by saying that I was eagerly waiting for this book-

Let me start by saying that I was eagerly waiting for this book- I just had to know how Christian and Elizabeth’s story would end. After everything they’d gone through, could they make it out and still have their HEA?
(Please note this book is not a stand-alone and should be read after reading Take This Regret).
“There wasn’t a chance in hell I would ever stop loving this woman
My heart was literally ripped from my chest in the very first chapter. Something tore these two apart, and you just knew it had to be something awful because the kind of love they shared couldn’t, wouldn’t be treated lightly. After the first chapter you start to figure out exactly what happened to them; it’s not until about half-way through that she actually reveals what tore them apart.
Even though I already knew what happened, reading the words broke my freaking heart. I cried… a lot! Every time Elizabeth cried I cried, every time she spoke of Christian’s heartache I felt in my heart.
“Maybe a love that flamed so bright could only burn us into the ground.”
I will say though after a while I started to get angry – I was angry with Elizabeth that she couldn’t pull it together, angry with her for pushing Christian away and especially angry with her when she thought she could move on without him. I was also upset with Christian for not fighting! I wanted to shake him and scream at him, “fight for her, damn it!”
But, I had faith in Ms. Jackson- she wouldn’t leave me hanging and she wouldn’t leave me feeling angry and hurt and broken… would she? You’ll have to read it to find out!

"I will stand by you forever. I will never let you go."

"I will stand by you forever. I will never let you go."

Just when you think author A.L. Jackson can't pull the reader's heartstrings any tighter, in If Forever Comes, she pulls out all the stops and weaves an unforgettable, heart wrenching, and breathtaking conclusion to Christian and Elizabeth's journey.

Christian and Elizabeth's journey comes full circle in an intense style that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride that leaves them completely spent. Written in the first person narrative alternating between Christian and Elizabeth's perspectives, the conclusion to their journey is filled with so much angst, struggle, heartache, hopes, dreams, joy and love. Their gut wrenching emotions are palpable and painful, yet oh so beautiful, you can't help but get drawn into their story and feel compassion for them, you will definitely be reaching for the box of tissues.

The author creates a cast of characters that are simply amazing! They are realistic, complex, down-to-earth people with flaws that are easy to relate to. Their interactions, dialogue and emotions are dramatic, the individual perspectives are told in a clever and realistic way that the reader can relate to both Elizabeth and Christian. My emotions ran the gamut as my opinion towards both Elizabeth and Christian swayed back and forth. I could easily see myself in both of their positions, the author's descriptions of their emotions and perspectives is simply phenomenal. The supporting cast of characters are wonderful, they lend their love and support for Christian and Elizabeth in a way that only family and friends can provide. I absolutely loved the support that Matthew and Natalie provide to Elizabeth and Christian. I would be remiss if I didn't mention my favorite character, little Lizzie. This little girl simply won my heart over with her preciousness.

The author's thoughtful message that through all the pain, struggle and loss, true love does survive comes shining through in this awesome series, it is a wonderful gift that the author has given to her readers.

If Forever Comes is an amazingly powerful and emotionally intense story that will simply move you. It is an unforgettable story about love, loss, friendship and family that will resonate with the reader long after the last word has been read.

If Forever Comes is the third book in the Take This Regret series. I cannot stress enough to the reader that in order to fully appreciate this wonderful series, they should read each book in sequential order.

    4.5 stars
If Forever Comes was such an emotional read. From the minute I opened the book, to the very last page, I was on the edge of my seat rooting for this couple to pull through their heartache. It was a bittersweet ending to a series that I'll hold dear.

I've loved Christian from the start of the series. Yes, he's made some bad choices, but he always comes back to correct his mistakes. He's devoted to his family and he loves passionately. I really felt for him in this book. He felt helpless with Elizabeth, but was also dealing with his own grief. He desperately wanted to heal his family. Some may argue that Christian should have done more, but like I said, he was dealing with loss in his own way too. But, I think what matters is that he never gave up on Elizabeth or their love for each other.

Elizabeth. My heart was breaking for her. Just when she thinks she will have her happily ever after, the rug is pulled once again. Elizabeth is lost in a hole so deep and she can't seem to pull herself out. She places blame on Christian instead of dealing with her depression. While my heart hurt for her, there were times I got frustrated with her. There is a point in the story where her family confronts her and I was cheering. No, I can't imagine what it would be like to suffer a loss like she did, but she really needed to pull herself through the grief or get help. She had a daughter to care for and a man who wanted to be there to support her through this time, but she couldn't see through the pain. Of course, she does ultimately heal, but it takes time and some harsh realities.

I could say more, but if I did, I feel it would reveal too much about the story. Overall, I really enjoyed it, despite the emotional turmoil. I was thrilled with the ending and I'll admit I was in tears through both epilogues. Elizabeth and Christian's journey hasn't been easy, but it showed that this couple was truly meant to be together. Did I need this book to complete their story? No, because I was happy with where things left off in Take This Regret. However, I appreciated seeing how they handled real life challenges as a couple. These two have grown a lot. I'll miss them.

If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend it. It's not easy and it will make your heart ache, but if you're a romantic like me, you'll cherish the love that's created.

    Quotes:
    ~"Don't leave me."
Exhaling, I somehow managed to pull her a little closer. I would never let her go.
"Never, Elizabeth. I wasn't going anywhere. I was just waiting for you to come back to me."-Loc 2947

~This woman, the one who'd stolen my breath with a passing glance.
This woman, the one who'd changed every piece of me.
I clutched her face as I kissed her.
    This woman.
    My forever.-Loc 3310

Where do I even start with this one…. First, I will tell you that I am a big fan of A.L. Jackson’s writing style. She has such a unique way of writing that I have not seen before. The first book that I read from A.L. was “Take this Regret” Book #1 in this series, and it was written beautifully. I LOVED the story and now can’t wait to read more from this Author! I was not sure what to expect with “If Forever Comes”, as I thought I was going to get into the continuation of Christian and Elizabeth’s story and it would be all hearts, love and flowers. I was not expecting the heart-breaking devastation that the characters were faced with in this book. A.L. writes with such emotion to this real-life situation, she is able to put you right into the characters’ heads.

“There is nothing that could make me stop loving you. Nothing that could make me stop needing you. You are my start and you are my finish, the one who’s going to be there for everything in between.”

While it was not the continuation of a happily ever after, you are faced with instead an emotional read that kept you wondering where things could have went so wrong. Christian and Elizabeth’s love is intense and they have already overcome so many things only to have a wrench thrown into their happily ever after and we watch as both Christian and Elizabeth go to dark places in this story.

“But life had taken Elizabeth and me down a path neither of us knew how to navigate. One neither of us could bear. Life sometimes puts so much weight on our shoulders we crumble, bends us so far we break.”

Don’t get me wrong here, the story is NOT ALL sad, as you get flashbacks from where Take this Regret left off and you continue to feel the intensity and love from these characters… and are given some steamy scenes. BUT, when the unforeseen happens, will they still get their happily ever after? Will they keep their newly reunited family together? I am not a spoiler, so you will not hear the answer from me! If you have not started this series, I highly recommend that you do!

This is just what I've come to expect from an A.L. Jackson boo

This is just what I've come to expect from an A.L. Jackson book...the unexpected, heart-wrenching, sleepless, heart-warming novel. I must admit I was not too happy when I first began reading the storyline. I guess I just wasn't ready to have my heart torn out quite like it was. I loved the back and forth with the past and present. My favorite quote, "You are my start and you are my finish, the one who's going to be there for everything in between..." It perfectly sums up the story of Christian and Elizabeth. I am sorry to see them go but what an ending!!!!! I loved it!!!!! "I will stand by you forever..." What more can you say?

AL Jackson does it again! If Forever Comes is the perfect ending

AL Jackson does it again! If Forever Comes is the perfect ending to the incredible love story of Christian and Elizabeth. The story demonstrates their love and the will to never give up-a true love story.

The story starts off in the present time with a distraught Christian and all I can think about is "wth happened? Didn't their story end happily?" Oh I was so wrong!

The flow between Christian and Elizabeth's POV and going back and forth between past and present was very well done. It made sense to have the structure of the book this way so you're able to understand not only both sides of the story but their emotions.

The passion between Christian and Elizabeth was undeniable and real. Jackson gives a whole new meaning to angry sex.

After reading Take this Regret, I wanted more and Jackson provided us with that. The drama and troubles were heart breaking for these two beloved characters. I wanted to jump in the book and slap Christian! Your heart breaks for both of them and their loss. Jackson portrayed Elizabeth's pain so well, I wanted to give her a hug! The agony she was going through was real. Elizabeth was depressed and when her family tried to intervene you felt their stress and anger towards Elizabeth.

The ending was perfect. You got to see their happily ever after in so many ways. Honestly, a 5 star read! So worth the wait!

Too depressing. I like touching stories but this was just sad, mushy and repeat. I enjoyed the other books in this series but skipped parts of this and was glad to finish.
