This book will change people's lives because it helped to change mine. For a period of time, during most of my teenage years and 20s, I often felt worthless and scared but never understood these feelings. Instead, I became a recluse, often endangering my life and forgetting about living up to my potential and becoming a success. If I Knew Then What I Know Now makes you want to rediscover your dreams and do everything you possibly can to attain a better quality of life. This book focuses on people working together as an entire unit to conquer greater goals like helping our kids and teens appreciate and have love for themselves. When we are young, we are so vulnerable to outside conditions and how we interpret everything that is going on around us. As adults, we tend to forget about these weaknesses, however, as some of us grow out of them, others never have the chance. We need to stop and listen for those irreplaceable moments and remind our children just how important they are and how beautiful and unique each and every single person in this world is. There are so many people in this world who need help and if we were better equipped with the knowledge that you can get from this book, we'd have a better chance to make things happen. We must start the healing by helping those who struggle with guilt, poverty, shame and epidemics like bullying and addictions. When we start to realize the power that we have within each other and the possibilities that can come from bestowing that power upon others, the more needed and common goals can be reached. So many people struggle with alcoholism and always feeling like they are worthless, simply because situations were handed to them either by not understanding what was happening in the first place, or by default. If I Knew Then What I Know Now is a must read and serves as a must-have handbook for people who ever need to remind themselves about their potential and power to succeed in this world. We have to start working together and stop looking out for number one all of the time. We have to start communicating with one another more and become more "human" again. And if we see someone who desperately needs someone to steer the into a better direction, we need to take control and show that person that there is always a way to succeed. Even if they haven't found something yet, there is always something because this world is filled with endless possibilities and means to reaching your dreams. We need to encourage our youth to strive to be the best that they can be and not let outside issued affect their ability to reach their potential. There is so much that this book has to offer and it will change each and every single person who reads it; I guarantee it. If you know someone who is lost or someone who is searching for more in life, tell them about this book. And for those who think they know everything, I am 100 percent positive that they will learn something new and take home something greater with this incredibly inspiring piece of work.
If I Knew Then What I Know Now is a must read. What I LOVE about this book – other than the obvious (I wrote chapter 3) – is that it relates to all people, on every level, in every walk of life. This book is a cooperative effort of 17 authors who honestly and courageously share with readers a variety of personal struggles and real-life challenges. You will definitely want to read and re-read each chapter to absorb the inspiring messages and heartfelt moments. If I Knew Then What I Know Now lets readers know (1) we are not alone, (2) we have the power to change our lives while inspiring others, and (3) we have the power to change the world. If I Knew Then What I Know Now is a significant, motivational book that connects you with everything good in this world, in yourself, and in others. Rebecca L. Norrington Happiness Specialist
