Remarkably, Allen manages to infuse just as much depth, heart and rich historical detail into this excellent novella as she does in her exceptional novels. And unlike too many novellas the story she tells is a complete one not a mere fragment or outline. She is one of the very best writers in the genre and recommend to anyone who isn't looking just for stroke fiction.

The time and place were well developed, and the characters' speech and behavior was suited to the setting. Enjoyable historical romance, I didn't want it to end.

Once you see Tamara Allen's name, you know it will be a great read. This one did not dissapoint. She is a master of setting the historical scene in such a way that you feel you are there. And the characters are great as well.
