Concept great...writing not so much. This reads more like a rough draft than a final product. I think the author should have went back and tweeked this story a little more, put a few finishing touches on it to really make it shine. Misspelling, words left out of sentences, and words used incorrectly make this story at times difficult to read. The transition between the past and present lives of the characters is not smooth but instead choppy. Although this is fiction at times certain aspects of the story seem implausible and/or don't really make sense for example Ingrid arrives back to Elmore pregnant and not wanting to be embarrased for being an unwed mother she instead decides to marry a man she's known for only 3 days and pretend he's the father of her baby rather than have people know she was pregnant by her boyfriend of several years...really which of those choices seems more embarassing? I think the bones of a good story/book are here but to me this story was not yet ready for publication.

    Pretty good

I love cheris hodges but i felt like this book was lacking somehow. I can't stand when a character constantly goes back and forth with their emotions for a ton of pages. It is too much. Outside of that their love story was great. I still suggest reading the book...but rent it from the library first.

    WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE

I bought this book on a whim, I was caught up from pg 1. No regrets with this purchase. The storyline and characters evolved with each chapter ....everyone needs a christina in their lives she held no punches, I really wished that jason knew about the baby and was able to build a relationship sooner also had Louise lived and met jason I think they eould have likec each other, why make Louise the father he could have been godfather and made everything much easier to explain.......I will purchase more books by this author

    A must read. Great book.

I love reading Cheris Hodges' books. She always tells a great story.
This book is about young lovers and the trials they go through for the male character(Jason) to acheive super star status as a singer, while Jason's Manager is constantly telling him to get rid of his girlfriend Ingrid so that he can become a star. The Manager also tells Ingrid that she is not good enough for Jason and breaks them
up while Ingrid is hiding a secret.
