Meet the Author

Nina Bruhns credits her gypsy great-grandfather for her great love of adventure. She has lived and traveled all over the world, including a six-year stint in Sweden. She has two graduate degrees in archaeology (with a specialty in Egyptology), and like her idol Indiana Jones, has been on scientific expeditions from California to Spain to Egypt and the Sudan.

All this has been great fodder for her books. Currently an author for Berkley, Silhouette Nocturne and Silhouette Romantic Suspense, Nina’s many adventures give her stories a colorful dimension and allow her to create vivid settings and characters that are out of the ordinary. She has earned two RITA nominations, and has won numerous other awards for her published books, including the prestigious National Readers Choice Award, three Daphne du Maurier Awards of Excellence for Overall Best Romantic Suspense of the year, five Dorothy Parker Awards, several RT BookClub Reviewers Awards, as well as having her books named Best Series Book of the Year by more than one online review site.

A native of Canada, Nina grew up in California and currently resides in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, with her husband and three children.

    another winner

I found this book to be very entertaining, I love the relationship between the two main characters and I like how it brought back the characters from the previous book and it showed how their relationships are evolving. Looking forward to the next one!

    I Also Recommend:

    Romantic and suspense

This was a great book. Lots of action and some really funny scenes. I had a great time getting to know the characters and couldn't wait to get to the next book. This was my first experience with Nina Bruhns, but she didn't disappoint at all. I can't wait for her next series.

    Didn't Like It

This book really didn't do it for me. I think there was just too many plot's and romance's going on and not enough concentration on the main characters. Overall, this book wasn't that good. :( Her previous book, Shoot To Thrill, was a good book though so I would recommend that book.

    an exhilarating romantic suspense

In Louisiana several odd deaths have occurred that alarm the state law enforcement officials. State police officer Tara Reeves leads the inquiry, but needs a Bayou swamp fox to expertly escort her in and out of the bogs where the corpses have been found.

As her guide she hires Marc Lafayette unaware that he is an undercover special ops agent searching for an apparent terrorist cell working in the Bayou. Marc has mixed feelings about being her escort as he sees her as a cover but also a hindrance while seeking the killers. He also is attracted to her, feelings she shares with him. However, as their two inquiries converge, the terrorists attack the cop and the soldier with the intent to kill.

If Looks Could Kill is an exhilarating romantic suspense that has plenty of goings-on in the Bayou, at times too much, but fans will not be able to put the thriller down until finished. Fast-paced with a strong lead couple, the cop and the black op find their cases and their hearts converge as the audience will seek Nina Bruhns' previous works (see Shoot to Thrill).
