Have you tried to change your body and found it to be terribly difficult to accomplish? Have you looked in the mirror only to see an image with which you were not happy? That is exactly the way I have lived most of my life. This book will tell you of the physical miracle I experienced and the miracle of learning to love myself just like I am at any minute of any day. Then I learned God loves me even more! He loves me with all my cellulite, love handles, and belly. His love is not dependent upon my being a certain size or shape.
You are about to begin a nine-week journey to gain appreciation for the YOU God made. During that journey, you will read personal stories that will make you laugh (like the time I had my hair highlighted, and boy was it awful), stories that will make you ponder (like the story of my husband’s conversations with his taste buds), stories that might make you hungry (like the Norman Rockwell type Christmas dinner that didn’t end so well), and stories with which you can relate (like the story of my losing this book on a computer that died a sudden death).
As an added bonus, you will find daily devotions to help you complete a wonderful journey. This journey is meant to be uplifting, informative, and bring hope. If you are like me, hope may be the one component missing from being successful in past attempts to love yourself and believe God loves you, also. God is totally interested in you being successful in all areas of your life, and helping you control those doughnut cravings is no exception.
So, put the doughnuts in the bottom of the trash can, empty the litter box on top of them, close the lid, and let’s get down to work. I can’t wait to see the NEW YOU!
Carol Howell was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina and has spent the last twenty-eight years in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Her most notable accomplishment was the wise decision to accept Jesus as her Savior at a very young age. Since that time, she has spent her life trying diligently to serve Him within the confines of her body, her temperament, and her abilities. Carol is not shy to announce her biggest challenge in life has been her issues with her body, her weight, and her self image. Carol is a wife of 28 years, a mother of 26 years, a small business owner of 24 years, a Certified Dementia Specialist and Life Coach for 3 years, and a struggling dieter for all of her years.
While Carol actively pursues her career as a Certified Dementia Specialist and Life Coach, she speaks regularly to groups regarding dementia, eating right, exercising, and God’s love for us “no matter what size we are or what size we are NOT”. She also spends a great deal of time helping caregivers realize their need to keep themselves healthy so they will be able to care for their loved one who is traveling the journey of dementia. In addition, Carol conducts Music Therapy classes with individuals who are living with various physical and cognitive disabilities.
