Meet the Evans family:

A family torn apart by war and misfortune meets a family held together by the bonds of love.

Two families entwine after one fateful night changes their lives forever. Andrew Sheehan, former elite soldier, returns home from war and is suddenly accused of murder. Only Jamie Evans can prove his innocence.

What would you do?

A single meeting, the memory of one night, holds the key to a murder. If Jamie is correct, she gives a hero back his life. If she is wrong, she risks freeing a murderer from prison. Trusting her instincts, Jamie puts her life on hold and strives to free Andrew despite her family’s misgivings. Determined to do what is right, she vows to help him get his life back on track.

Andrew, feeling betrayed by the country he nearly died protecting, fights the demons he carries in an effort to make things work with Jamie and repair the fractured relationship with his brother Adam, who bears his own battle scars.

Dare he dream?

With Jamie and her family’s help, Andrew begins to pick up the pieces of his shattered life. Realizing that there is more to life than bitterness and resentment, he starts over again determined to make the best of his experiences. But the killer is still out there, and Andrew soon finds that he is haunting him still.

This book is 690 pages of excellant reading. It was pretty well perfect. The author did not use sex, cursung or extreme gore as a hook. Thank You! I read it in one sitting earning myself a head ache and a deep satisfaction of a well read book. I think mature sixteen year olds would enjoy this book as well as older readers if they would not be scared off by the length. So many times, I have seen young people go for a lesser read, just because it is shorter, then complain about the quality. I purchased another book in this book in this series right away. I hope it is as good. This one I archived. It was good enough for a reread, an honor I do not give many books. AD

Who would have thought that a chance meeting at a bar for Jamie and Andrew would turn into such a life changing, or for that matter, saving event. Andrew suffered abuse as a child and post traumatic stress after his time in Afghanistan. Just as he feels like things are looking up for him, his life falls apart. The story on how these two meet again and the highly emotional ride this author takes you on is well worth reading. This is a 700 page sweet romance.

is an above average read with some twists and turns through out the plot. Well developed characters and the beginning connects to the end of the story. Great free read!

To wordy. Found myself skimming through the book. Did not have to be 700 pages. Lots of repeating and way more detail on little things.

The opening of this book captured my interest, unfortunately, it was the only part that I found captivating. At the half way point of the book, I had to force myself to pick it up and keep reading. The ending was ok, but by that point I had very little compassion for the characters and when I should of been shedding a few tears, I was just happy I had finished the book.

Scott has an interesting, compelling story here. But it is buried beneath extraneous detail, unnecessary scenes, ponderous and lagging backstory. This book would be a lot more sharp, powerful, and enjoyable to read if it were edited down to about 400 pages.

I skimmed most of this book. It was a good read but just felt it was very long with too much details. So i did get bored with it. But the ending was kinda weird but made sense.

This was enjoyable from beginning to end. The author draws you in, and you find yourself laughing, smiling, shedding a tear or two right along with the character(s) in this well written book. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.
