Read by the author

It-girl Betty White delivers a hilarious, slyly profound take on love, life, celebrity, and everything in between.

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

Welcome to the Betty White Renaissance! In truth, the now 89-year-old, former Golden Girl has never gone away, but in the past two years, she has won a Primetime Emmy, hosted Saturday Night Live, posed for her own calendar, debuted a clothing line, and appeared as a guest star on numerous shows, including 30 Rock and Community. In this adventurous update on her ongoing autobiography, she shares wisps of wisdom and stories of her octogenarian activities. Slyly profound; heartwarmingly winning. A Barnes & Noble Bestseller now in trade paperback and NOOK Book.

Edward Ash-Milby

Library Journal
More Hollywood anecdotes, plus insights on issues like love, sex, television, and celebrity. White is hot, and not just in Cleveland; last May she became the oldest person ever to host Saturday Night Live after a huge Facebook campaign.
Kirkus Reviews

The beloved actress shares some of her recent experiences.

White's (Here We Go Again: My Life in Television, 1995, etc.) autobiographical work reads much like an enjoyable, if one-sided, afternoon chat with a charming personality. She engagingly addresses an ever-present second person and intuits the questions her audience would ask. White doesn't dwell for long on a given topic, instead relating brief, easily digestible tales. Subsequently, the narrative sometimes lacks cohesion, even structured as it is according to different aspects of her life—e.g., Hollywood Stories, Stagecraft, Love and Friendship and Animal Kingdom, etc. Yet this only further adds to the book's conversational flow. There is nothing overly profound or moving in these pages, nor do the laughs come fast and furious, but readers will enjoy White's gentle tone and cheery stories. She avoids acrid personal attacks or overwrought self-criticisms, and she clearly writes because she enjoys it, a fact she admits on more than one occasion. The book is certainly not an essential read for either historical or humorous purposes, and it's often riddled with clichés, but White's fans and those looking for a bit of light fare will enjoy this latest batch of stories.

A quick, pleasant read from an author whose writing voice is surprisingly reminiscent of her speaking voice.

72 pages is the whole book!

It breaks down to 72 pages because the hardcover copy has lots of blank pages. The 72 pages IS the same product.

    Only 72 Pages?

I bought this for nook and I'm extremely disappointed that it's only 72 pages in comparison to the 200+ page hardcover edition. Can it be that all 200+ pages are condensed to only 72 on nook? Have I been deceived? I love Betty...so I guess I'm going to have to go out and buy the hardcover so I can get the full story!

Rec buying the hard copy. Nook version is only 1/4 of the hardcover 72 of 256 pages.

Betty White is one of my favorite people and her writing is wonderful. However, I am very disappointed that I only received 1/4 of the book - 72 pages on Nook rather than the 256 hardcover. I paid almost as much as the full hardcover. I recommend not buying the Nook version.

    Who Doesn't Like Betty White?

Who doesn't love Betty White? Why, I remember watching Life with Elizabeth and The Betty White Show in the 1950s--many years ago! I remember when she and Allen Ludden were together on his Password show. They later married in 1963.

She still prefers to be called Mrs. Ludden--her married name, and she offers the reader many other incites into her interesting life and career. The book is easy to read, with short chapters, and it's loaded with pictures.

I'm old enough to know better.

I cannot believe that anyone, much less a company like Barnes and Noble, has the gall to charge $12.99 for this Nook book or that I, a 70-something, was gullible enough to pay it. If it were 72 pages of fiction, it wouldn't even be in book format. It would be a short story in an obscure women's magazine. I am a huge Betty White fan, but let's be honest. This wonderful, funny actress can't write. While I genuinely admire her talent on camera, I found this book to be a waste of my money and the two hours it took me to read it. I believe the only reason it's a best seller is because Ms. White wrote it. It's not hilarious or insightful, as the editors claim. It's a few pages of much repitition of material that wasn't that great to begin with.

    I like Betty, but . . .

. . . the book is a waste of time. It can easily be read in a couple of hours. It is filled with nothing! Each "chapter" goes about three paragraphs and much of the material is repetitious. Betty has been a favorite performer of mine for years . . . going back to "Life With Elizabeth", but this book is a complete "dud". Nothing remotely funny and a total waste of time and money!

    Not worth the money....

I have watched Betty over the years, mainly as Rose in Golden Girls, re-run after re-run. I was so dissappointed in this book. Coming from Betty, I expected the book to be enlightening and very funny. It was neither.

love the book -- all of it! reading on my nook now

no, the nook version is NOT abridged, it is the same book, word for word, as the ahrdcover. the differnce in page counts is due to typeface, blank pages in the hardocver edition, etc.

    Frothy entertainment.

Vignettes from a delightful career are good in short bursts. But Betty's title promised wisdom and advice gleaned from the perspective of her years. Instead, it simply flowed from one name-dropping incident to another. We expected wise advice regarding life in general, and aging gracefully, in particular.

    The book didn't deliver.

I've seen a lot of reviews about the book only being 72 pages. I checked it out from the library. I really enjoyed it. It was short, an easy read, but very fun. I would recommend it.

    The book was ok

I read the book and enjoyed what I read. But to be honest, for $12 + and only 72 pages I was a bit disappointed. Should have taken the Nook to the store and did some free reading.

    Funny! Betty is great!!

This is a great book. I flew thru the pages. She is very entertaining and writes well to keep your interest.
To those who are concerned to the less pages in this e-book vs the printed one. There were lots of pages with little printing on it in the actual book. They used larger fonts to "flesh-out" the book version. I looked at this in a B&N store. You can be assured when you get the
e-version, you DO HAVE THE ENTIRE BOOK!! She's so funny!! i would get it again!!
