Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Beverley Fahey
Bold, bright acrylics fill the pages of this book and help illustrate words, phrases, and sentences that are spelled the same forward and backward. After explaining the meaning of the term, colorful words and supportive illustrations convey the meaning in a series of simple sentences. A quartet of African animal play instruments that toot and peep while a disabled vehicle is described as a Toyota that broke down at noon. Two mice conversing about the cat lurking in the background ask, "Was it a cat I saw?" Once introduced to palindromes, kids will no doubt be encouraged to look for more on their own. Complete with a "Fun With" section with sample activities to extend the text as well as a glossary and index this would be a useful addition to a classroom library or it may be a supplemental tool to use with children learning English as a second language.
