Not a good NOOKbook for bible study class

I wanted to get a bible on my NOOK to take to RCIA classes rather than a print bible, but the book in e-book format is too cumbersome. The only way to navigate verses is to go to Chapters and scroll down until you find the right book and the right chapter. It takes a few minutes for the chapter selection screen to come up, and then a whole whole whole lot of scrolling depending on what book you are looking for. This NOOKbook would be okay for cover to cover reading, but not so much for bible study, and definitely not for in the classroom when you need to flip around to different verses in the bible. Very disappointing.

The Ignatius Bible it's self is awesome. I much prefer the language than that of the New American Bible. It's a bit more poetic.

    Format problems

Some text is not formatted correctly. Even though I set the font size larger, some text displays very small while other text displays very large.

Satan must be busy freezing this book up!

I read so many chapters and was so glad to have this Bible on my Nook but had to have my Nook replaced today because the Ignatius Bible kept freezing up. When they installed it on the new Nook, the same thing happened! If it works for you, wonderful. Wish I knew of a good Catholic Bible that would work with my Nook.

    Unfreeze!

I struggled with this great bible freezing and no support person could helped me. Tonight I stumbled upon a miracle....the bible completely unfroze when I reduced the font to the smallest size. You may need to reduce the font size in another book before you try to open your frozen bible. Praise God! I am back into this awesome bible!

    Godd but slow

This is the best modern day translation we Catholics have. No inclusive language or feminist influences here. However the menu system on the nook is horrible and slow. The book takes literally 15 slow seconds to load! Also the contents page is not detailed and radiculously long. Probably what is slowing it on load. The table of contents should have been a list of books like the first couple of pagess of the bible. However it is a list of every page of each book and it takes a minute to scroll thru the thing. Come Ignatius press lets fix this and get on the ball.

    Tips for freezing and navigation

This book is very large and tends to freeze, plus the TOC is difficult to navigate. There is hope! As a previous reviewer mentioned, if you can stand it, set the type to the smallest font and the freezing goes away. To fix the Table of Contents, I logged into my Nook reader on my laptop and navigated in order through each start page for every book of the Bible. Then I bookmarked that page. This created essentially my own TOC in my bookmarks section, and it works flawlessly.

    Highly dissatisfied

I'm dissatisfied for many reasons. this book has been stuck on many of the pages. its missing 2 chapters, which means if you are reading this for a class you have to Google it. the only thing i like is the nook study, thats the only thing i rather buy. the NOOK in general isn't worth the hype.
