Editorial Reviews

School Library Journal
Gr 8 Up-Handsome Kyle, blinded by a chemistry experiment gone awry, and Carley, whose face was disfigured by cancer surgery, meet in the hospital. Carley worries that the blossom of romance will wither when Kyle's sight returns and he can see her damaged face. YAs are not going to buy the contention of Carley's beautiful older sister that being pretty is sometimes "the most awful burden in the world," but they are going to love the happy ending, the wholesome message, the lovers' big showdown, the plastic surgery possibility, and the Valentine finale. They will also be touched by Carley's plight, her courage, her many dimensions, and the realistic hospital setting. A satisfying story for those who like to take their romance with tears and gutsy characters who know what it means to live beyond the pale of "normal."-Doris A. Fong, Benson Polytechnic High School, Portland, OR
From the Publisher
"...Carley's dilemma will certainly pluck readers' heartstrings."

The Greatest Book for Middle Schoolers

This book is sure to grab readers attention. Its about a sixteen year old girl named Carley. Carley meets a seventeen year old boy named Kyle. This happens while they are in the hospital. Carley never expects to meet a boy as handsome as Kyle in the hospital. Kyle was blinded when a experiment exploded in his face. Carley really likes this boy and Kyle really likes her. Carley is keeping a huge secret from Kyle. Carley knows that guys only likes girls who are pretty and she thinks that she isn't. This is due to her facial deformity. The doctors say that Kyle might get his sight back and that scares her. If he does get his sight back he wouldn't like her anymore. Bad Ending.

The ending for me was a little too predictable.
And the story was a little to cliche for my taste.
It was cute, and the author is an ecxellent writer, but she has had better books.
It took be about an hour to read, and it was worth my time, but the ending disappointed me.
I mean, we all know that Carley and Kyle end up together, its just, simple.

    Revealing your true self

"I'll be seeing you" is a touching story of a girl who is scared to show her face to the boy she has feeling for, fearing that he will never want to know if he knew the truth. She goes threw great lengths to prevent him from knowing that her face is deformed. The times goes by and their feelings for eachother grow, and so does the healing of his eys. Not knowing what to do, she is faced with telling more lies to protect herself or coming clean and facing the consequences no matter what they are.

    I Also Recommend:

    A very good book :)

Even though this book was very short and I was able to read it in one day I think it was captivating and just very fun to read. I think that it reflects what happens to real people and shows you that personality instead of beauty really does count. Very good and i reccomend it to everyone.

    touching and inspiring...

I loved this book! I also fell in love with the characters, especially Carly because even though her face was deformed she still lived on, went to school, and tried to cope by telling jokes. I always appreciate strong female characters, and Kyle was really awesome too. He was really mature for his age, which is something all girls appreciate.
