Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
The story begins with a mother preparing her child for bed. The book takes the calming format of a poetic description of night as "a blanket that helps the earth to sleep." That dark world includes the light of moonbeams, twinkling stars, promises of pleasant dreams, and always the comforting refrain, "I'll see you in the morning." The gentle words which make night friendly and the reassurance of the mother's proximity are given visual expression with soft pictures. Both combine to make this a lullaby of a book. 2005, Chronicle, Ages 2 to 4.

WE LOVE THIS BOOK!  My husband started reading it to our 1 month old daughter every night when we put her in her crib for the night.  My husband has since memorized it .  Now my husband reads a different book each night to our 6 month old and follows with this book.  Our daughter has slept 10-12 hours a night since she was a month old.  I think the routine of reading this book has helped calm her before sleep.  We will be buying it for all of our friends that are expecting little one's.

This one of the best books we bought when our son was born. It's a wonderful bedtime book! We have since bought it as a gift for several people now. Highly recommend!

This book is one of my favorites! It is a very simple book, but is perfect for our three year old who has had some trouble going to bed because of being scared. It sweetly reminds the little ones that there is nothing to be afraid of and that you are only 'steps away' if they need you. It holds the attention of a toddler because it is nice and short and the message is easy for them to understand. It is a great book which they can read with you after a few times because of the length of the book and rhyming patterns. I highly recommend this book as a bedtime classic for your toddler or for a gift for someone with a toddler!

It is a great alternative to Goodnight Moon... my son loves it! We have to read it to him every single night!
