I read this book many years ago. I was thrilled to find it again. I'm rereading now, which will my 15th time. This book has everything in a Sci-fi book you could want. You got suspense, comedy, aliens and action.

But their random group is one of the worst street gangs of New York! With the help of the poor overworked engineer --- well, I'll leave to you to discover.
Much humor in the Universal Translator. When told of their challenge, the gang off color remarks are remarkable cleaned up. ("This inhales!" "This exhales!")
Characters are hilarious and many puns throughout the story. "Great Golden Ones", indeed. If you like stories with a humorous mismash of characters joined together for a quest to save the day, this is right up your alley.

Overview
Professor Rajavur and his First Contact Team had been patiently waiting years for aliens to land on Earth. Leader Idow and the crew of the starship, All That Glitters, were just looking for an unknown planet where they could land and have a little fun teasing the primitive natives. So it was pure bad luck that the first humans the alien tricksters encounter is a ruthless New York City street gang, the Bloody Deckers. With more starships landing and the world in chaos, Rajavur and his First Contact Team have to move fast in a desperate plan to rescue the innocent aliens from the evil street gang! Then again, maybe they should join forces with the street gang to protect the Earth from the furious aliens?
