Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
The familiar rhyme is presented with toddlers costumed to fit the roles. A girl in a blue dress with a matching cap is pretending to be a teapot. In this rhyme the illustrations offer a demonstration of the positions to look like a little teapot. One arm crooked and the other held up represent the handle and the spout. As the water boils and steam rises you then hear the teapot shout—its little puff of steam. Then the toddlers all lean to one side so the tea can be poured out and then of course it is teatime—with pastries to go with the tea. The back cover contains the music and words for the rhyme. The simple illustrations on crisp white pages are quite appealing and depict boys and girls as well as different ethnicities. The book is part of a series that includes tittles such as Hey Diddle Diddle! and Wee Willie Winkie. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
