School Library Journal
PreS-Gr 2-The first story is told in verse. Ms. Vanilla's class is presenting a play about Little Red Riding Hood. The colorful, engaging illustrations have lots of funny details and readers will appreciate the surprise ending. In the second book, two siblings are trying to get rid of the crows in their garden. The girl believes that she is smarter because she's older and won't listen to any of her brother's ideas. Finally, she asks him for help. He creates a scarecrow, and the birds fly away. The illustrations are sketchy and static. Both stories are told in 200 words or less. My grandson loved reading this book. He loved the repetitive language and the opportunity to use expressive tones while reading and yelling at the crows.
