I'm in the Bathroom!

by Jessica Elin Hirschman, Bonnie Bright (Illustrator), Jennifer Elin Cole

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
A sweet little paean to harassed young mothers everywhere, this small, reasonably priced, hold-in-your-hand book takes a droll look at privacy needs. The verse is breezy and to the point as it addresses crises which are bound to occur as soon as mom shuts herself behind the bathroom door: phone calls; dressing decisions; minor injuries; invitations to tea parties. Hirschman and Cole's concept is a welcome one. Mothers do need to "go potty" and it's good to haul the forbidden subject out of its Victorian closet (or should that be "water chamber?") Bonnie Bright's watercolor sketches cheerfully delineate the two young perpetrators of mother's torment. I suspect Thomas Crapper would approve of the entire enterprise. 2002, Cookie Bear Press,
