Freddie, a new boy in town, is verv nervous about attending a new school for fear that the students will make fun of him. He is self conscious about his hair color and the size of his feet. However, things turn around for Freddie. Perhaps the first day isn't going to be so bad. A wonderful children's book.

My son was a little nervous about his first day of school so I bought this book to read with him. He loved the characters right away. He is hoping there will be a new book by this author so that we can find out what happens to Freddie on his other adventures. We see so many books with animals as their characters so it was nice to find a book with a real little boy.

The little boy is so cute and my heart does go out to him. The art work is so cute. We are looking foward to the follow up books.

We are the parents of a little girl and this new book was terrific in sharing with her how Freddie was able to overcome his apprehension and fear of going to school. This book tells a wonderful story through text and pictures that even though Freddie might look and be different from others, he is still able to fit in and be just like everyone else. This book might be about going to school, but all parents should read it to their child to make the point that it is ok to be different and afraid. We hope that this is the first of many more books about how Freddie copes and overcomes future obstacles through his childhood. Love the hair!!!

We are former students of Mrs.Scholz and could not wait until her book was published. We read the book and just loved it. Freddie is such a realistic character that deals with an issue that most students experience. We love the way she described Freddie and we were able to picture everything that was happening to him. After reading each page, we couldn't wait to read the next one. We hope to read more about Freddie real soon. We know that when we read this to our younger cousins they will love this book just as much as we did!!!
