Overview

Think you're having a rough week? Bella's stepdad, a semi-pro wrestler, just signed the entire family up for a reality TV show. Bella's first thought: Kill. Me. Now.

Living in Truman, Oklahoma wasn't 100% miserable for Bella. Sure, she misses Manhattan, couture clothes, and her dad. But she was making new friends at Truman High and almost enjoying her work at the school newspaper. Then the whole stepdad-wrestler-reality-show issue hit and her life is now being splashed across weekly tabloids and broadcast news.

As if having a camera crew following her around isn't bad enough, Bella soon discovers a conspiracy against the Truman High prom queen candidates. And the closer she gets to the answer, the more danger she's in.

As her relationship with Luke teeters between friendship and romance, Bella's ex-boyfriend Hunter reappears and vies for Bella's attention. Denying allegations of a love triangle, working to solve the prom queen mystery, and trying to keep her cool on national television finally motivate Bella to start talking—and listening—to God more.

But what comes next has Bella once again screaming: I'M. SO. SURE.

I'm so sure by Jenny B. Jones, was a very good suspending book that kept me on the edge of my seat. This book involves Bella Kirkwood, a teenager in trouble with society. She's handling a job an ex who can't seem to grab his emotions, and a wrestling step dad on a reality. From this book, I learned not to be "scared" about things or how people to my ideas. The greatest and most interesting theories were turned down at first. Until the people that rejected it found out how amazing of an idea it was. I don't think Jenny B. Jones was telling us to be a journalist or to have a step dad that is on a wrestling reality show. She telling us to come at of our shell, and I think a lot of us would understand that if we read in-between the lines. This book was an amazing experience and I very much hope to read the rest of this series in the future and better understand this author.

I loved this book! I can relate to a lot of the things that happen in this book. It had me laughing non-stop! I would highly recommend it for the price! Unlike other books, I couldn't put it down at all. I read it in 2 days! I usually read a 200 page book in 1-2 weeks. In the book Bella struggles with life and relationships, step-brothers, mysteries, and her dad's new girlfriend. Will life turn out good for Bella? Find out in this hilarious, amazing story. I would also reccommend it for ages 10+.

"I'm so sure." The title pretty much sums up Bella Kirkwood's life in, of all places, Truman, Oklahoma. The first book in the series, SO NOT HAPPENING, introduces the reader to Bella and the circumstances that find her transplanted from Manhattan to Truman. Now, in I'M SO SURE, Bella has settled into a routine and is finding life, actually, surprisingly, not so bad. That is until she is accosted by stalking photographers in the park when she has an almost moment with Luke Sullivan, her editor at the school paper. When she arrives home she's horrified to find out that the camera crew was from World Wrestling Television. Apparently, her stepfather is going to be one of the ten hopeful wrestlers on a new reality TV show. The winner of "Pile Driver of Dreams" gains a place in their professional wrestling ranks. To add insult to injury, her cheating ex-boyfriend, Hunter, calls out of the blue and wants to see her. He's in Tulsa with his father. He apologizes to her, and is fascinated by her faith and forgiveness. He hints at an obscure illness but doesn't give more details, and Bella doesn't want to pry. Luke warns Bella to be cautious around Hunter, but Bella likes the new Hunter before her. And if all that wasn't enough, Bella has to get a job. Her school paper advisor thinks she's the perfect writer for a column on teens working. The problem is the only sure place hiring is the feminine hygiene plant. There is NO WAY she's taking a job there. With all of these situations in Bella's life, the reader can be prepared for a hilarious journey that finds her smack dab in the middle of another mystery and cameras catching her at the most embarrassing moments. I'M SO SURE was even more entertaining that the first book in the series. Don't be put off if you think this is just "Christian Fiction." It's a story for everyone. Ms. Jones doesn't preach at all. Bella does look to God for guidance and reassurance in her daily life, but she is far from perfect, and there is something in Bella that everyone can relate to. I'm already anticipating the third book in the series, SO OVER MY HEAD. But I have to wait until May 2010 to see what else Bella can get into! And please, Ms. Jones, make sure Ruthie is in the story! She was the spunkiest character in the book!!!

Review by Jill Williamson What would you do if your stepdad made the cut for a reality TV show called Pile Driver of Dreams that will air weekly on World Wrestling Television? This is Bella Kirkwood's latest nightmare. Not only is her stepdad wearing a pirate costume that involves spandex, the cameras are following the whole family to see how each wrestler lives. Now, Bella's personal life-or random, not-so-true versions of it-is being splashed across weekly tabloids. Not so helpful when Bella is investigating a possible sabotage against the Truman High prom. Or when her ex-boyfriend, Hunter, and her boss, Luke, start giving her mixed signals. As usual, Jenny B. Jones had me laughing out loud. My husband shot me the raised eyebrow again and again as I read this book, mostly during Bella's stint as an employee at the Pancho's Mexican Villa. This might just be my favorite Jones' book yet. This is the second Charmed Life novel. I love the combination of humor and mystery in this series. I also really like the animals on the cover. And of course, the ache in my side when I'm done reading. I highly recommend this book for any girl, including those of us who've already graduated from high school and them some. Trust me, you will not be bored.

Lighthearted and fun, yet also clinging to a serious side, I'm So Sure is the perfect sequel to an awesome first book in the Charmed Life series. I read this book within days of it arriving in my mailbox. There were so many laugh-out-loud moments I lost count. In fact, I read several scenes to my husband and he laughed, too. Jones has a truly wack-o sense of humor, but it's also inspiring. I don't think I could ever come up with so many great one-liners. Jones has such a funny, snarky voice. Another thing I love about this series... Jenny B. Jones knows how to take her characters to the very edge of disaster, then elbows them until they topple off that precarious ledge. Bella has so much trouble stirring in her life that it's downright funny because the girl never gets a break. Just when you think her life can't get any more humiliating, it gets worse for her. Donald Maas would be proud. In fact, he could study Jones's books and probably learn something from them. Seriously. Despite all of the humorous situations, Bella also knows true heartache. Her character grows both spiritually and emotionally in this sequel. A number of times I truly felt her rejection. However, Bella tends to deal with everything tongue in cheek. So when Bella is ruffled enough to nearly cry, it brings about the waterworks in this reader. Well done! Now I can't wait for the third book in the series to release in May!

Bella is settling into her life in Truman, OK; but things are not all settled! Bella's life is on National TV... Her stepdad is on a reality show and her dad is engaged! She can't rely on dad's credit card anymore and she has to get a job! What else is going to turn Bella's life upside down? She figures, well at least school is the same... or is it? Read this fast paced book to find out what Bella is learning and discovering about herself and others!
