Overview

It started out as an ordinary day for Esther Comely-Cox, if you consider simultaneously totaling your car, smashing a Ho Ho in your face and meeting a handsome doctor ordinary.

Estranged from her family over her sister's mental illness and death, Esther can't help but feel alone. And when Esther hears the voice of her twin sister who committed suicide seven years ago, she begins to question her own sanity, leading her to wonder if anything is what it seems. Searching for answers, Esther must confront her past while looking towards a new future-one in which she is finally accepted.

Through humor and heartbreak, Esther learns that blood does not mean family, that absence does not make the heart grow fonder and that silence can speak volumes.

This was one of those books that I could not put down once I picked it up. A compelling story of Esther, who is ostracized from her family following the suicide of her twin sister. Ms. Biel tackles the delicate subject of mental illness and suicide, especially focusing on how it affects the family and how the stigma of mental illness can make the disease so much more difficult to deal with. And although this seems like a heavy, depressing subject, Ms. Biel weaves humor and levity into the story, keeping the reader on his or her toes. I highly recommend and cannot wait to read Ms. Biel’s other books!

~Received For An Honest Review~ An honest to goodness good read! You feel like you are Ester. You can feel every emotion and and every thought she has. A girl trying to figure it out after coming from so much. It was hard to place the reader down when I started reading this book! Kathryn Biel was a new to me author, and am excited that I was able to review for her!

Her best book yet! I feel like the author captured how it feels to have a loved one go through a terrible time that you can't help them with, and yet at the same time made it a feel good book. I was rooting for Esther all the way through and read it in one sitting!

I can't remember the last time I read a book that left me wanting to hug one of the main characters! Your heart goes out to Esther from the first few pages. Kathryn has you wanting to protect Esther while screaming at her family for not treating her they way she deserves. You will laugh, cry, and cheer as you follow Esther on the roller coaster that is her life. Fantastic third novel that should be on everyone's to-read list!

Interesting read, but the crude, vulgar language was a big turnoff for me.

I got this book for free. The first few chapters were good and I became very interested. Unfortunately when I got in a few chapters all the words in the book had a line running through them which kept you seei g the words. I deleted it and loaded it again, but that was of no help. If the book was readable it would have been worth five stars.

But for the potty mouth.I usually delete by the third word. I did skip few pages.the story itself was good. Mental illness affects everyone not just the personwho has it. It was sad and hard to read that Esther didnt have the support and love from her family

All I can say is this is s must read on so many levels. It opens your mind to mental illness and the effect it has to the family. I loved the strength and personality of Ester the main character and found myself not wanting the book to end just so I can keep her in my life
