Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"This outstanding book, in two volumes, provides an in-depth view into the exciting and more or less unlimited possibilities of image-guided interventions...There is nothing about interventional radiology that is not included in these exciting two volumes" - European Journal of Radiology, October 2009

"In conclusion, there is nothing about interventional radiology that is not included in these exciting two volumes about Image-guided interventions by Mauro, Murphy, Thomson, Venbrux, Zollikofer et al. Thus, this book should be available in every interventional department and in every institution confronted with patients prior to or after interventional treatments." - Loewe C, Book review. Eur J Radiol (2009) doi:10.1016/j.ejrad.2009.01.002

Doody's Review Service
Reviewer: Dennis Kay, MD (Ochsner Clinic Foundation)
Description: This well organized, state-of-the-art textbook encompasses all of the major invasive procedures performed by interventional radiologists.
Purpose: This book more than fulfills the authors' stated objectives of being practical, concise, and well illustrated. It is indeed representative of the state of the art in image-guided interventions across the globe. This is a much needed reference.
Audience: Physicians who perform the gamut of image-guided invasive procedures are the intended audience. This would include fellowship trained radiologists as well as general radiologists with certificates of added qualification in vascular and interventional radiology. The authors are recognized experts from around the world.
Features: Introductory chapters discuss the history of the specialty, diagnostic procedures, devices and pertinent pharmacologic agents. The remainder of the book is divided into sections on vascular interventional and nonvascular interventional procedures. The book is not intended to be encyclopedic, but concise and practical. The images are relevant and of high quality.
Assessment: This is a valuable reference for practitioners who perform image-guided invasive procedures. It is an excellent review when preparing for upcoming procedures.
