Add some wonder to daily routines with this vividly illustrated, inspirational picture book featuring a new cover and trim size.

“If you can imagine things aren't quite what they seem, and dream of possibilities that only you can dream of, then anything can happen....”

So begins this inspiring, poetic book, a celebration of the wonder and innocence of childhood. In a playful back-and-forth, Imagine asks you to envision everyday events as wondrous and magical occurrences. The ordinary scenes of childhood are illustrated in luxurious black-and-white, while the magical settings are in full, vibrant color. With just a twist of the imagination, a little girl looking at a toy dancer becomes a prima ballerina, a boy crossing a log becomes a tightrope walker, and a simple tree house becomes a grand castle.

Endless possibilities and creative explorations await. You only have to Imagine.

Kirkus Reviews
Children are invited to dream big in this title that doesn't quite fly. In seven vignettes, a child holds or views an object or an animal while Vivian exhorts him/her to think expansive thoughts and be carried to great heights. A boy stands in a treehouse. Turn the page, and he is a king standing tall on a castle parapet. A girl looks through a glass window at a mechanical ballerina. Turn the page, and she is onstage in an elegant tutu. A boy sees a fire truck, and on the next page, he is a hero rescuing a child. See a horse, and ride the open range. Hold a toy boat, and travel the seas. Draw a dragon, and become a dragon slayer. Walk a fallen log, and become a trapeze artist. The constant exhortations are more appropriate to an audience of adults in a motivation class than children. No dream depicted is out of the ordinary, and in too many instances, gender stereotyping prevails. The drawings, in black and white (for the prompts) or color (for the dreams), lack spark, and in too many of them, Vivian depicts the (mostly Caucasian) children and their grown-up counterparts from the back, precluding any attempts at empathy. Seek adventure elsewhere. This didactic effort lacks imagination and originality. (Picture book. 4-7)

This book contains a wonderful message of imagination and self expression that are brought to life on each page. The author's vivid drawings seem unbound by conventional standards and that meshes well with the tone of the book. No limits. Dream Big. Imagine.

Imagine is a book that every young child should have. The use of both black and white and color images make this book a treasure. This book will teach your children to dream and be creative. A lesson that every child needs. This is a beautiful book. You will not be disappointed in purchasing it.
