About the Author

My name is Stefano Manfroi, and I am a technician, an IT professional with over forty years of experience. My passion for technology and innovation has always pushed me to stay ahead of the present reality, anticipating changes and pioneering new paths in the world of computer science and telecommunications.

I began my career in 1983 when I purchased the legendary Commodore 64, the first home computer that marked the beginning of my journey into the digital world. From that moment on, I followed and contributed to technological evolution, working with all types of computers and developing skills ranging from programming to managing telecommunication networks.

In 1994, I took a step that would change the way people in my region interacted with technology: I became the first Internet provider in Umbria, offering my fellow citizens in Terni the possibility of connecting to the internet from home for the cost of a local phone call. At a time when the internet in Italy was still an unexplored territory, I had the vision to bring this innovation directly into people’s homes. While many were still unaware of the potential of the web, I was already working to make it accessible to everyone.

Being a pioneer doesn’t just mean adopting new technologies but foreseeing their impact and knowing how to integrate them into people’s daily lives.

I have always believed that technology is not an end in itself but a tool to improve knowledge, communication, and human awareness.

This belief has led me over the years to explore new frontiers between science and the mind, delving into the study of brain waves and the interaction between imagination and technology. If technology can connect the world, can it also connect people with themselves? This question has guided my research into a still little-explored area: the power of imagination and its effect on the human mind.

With Imagine Being Connected, I wanted to combine my experience in computer science and telecommunications with research on the mind’s capabilities, creating a bridge between technology, science, and emotion. This book represents a meeting point between my past as a digital pioneer and my ongoing quest to understand human consciousness.
