Overview

Cornell University scientists shocked the nation by reporting that new gene-altered corn can kill Monarch butterflies. Today a majority of foods in American supermarkets include GA ingredients. But since no long-term safety tests have been done and no labeling is required, consumers have no way of knowing the risks to their families' health. The British Medical Association, Union of Concerned Scientists, Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, and Consumers Union have called for a moratorium on this unproven technology. Imagine a World without Monarch Butterflies describes which foods are modified; their effects on body, mind, and spirit; their impact on the environment; and what can be done to protect the world's food supply.
