‘Имаго’ идва от латински и означава образ. В психологията наричат така подсъзнателния прототип на отношенията с околните, изграден още в детството. В ентомологията думата е название на последната фаза от развитието на някои насекоми – тогава те са оформени като възрастни индивиди и могат да се размножават. Смисълът, който заглавието на прозата носи, е застинал между двете определения. Написах “Имаго” през 2001. Тогава бях на 19 години. Съдбата бе разкъсала магическия пашкул на детството, а аз зарязах дрипите му в Пловдив и заживях в Студентски град. Там за първи път осъзнах реалните измерения на емоционалната импотентност, която се шири сред посткомунистическото ни общество. Наложи се да се боря срещу клишетата на възпитанието, които просто не ми вършеха работа. И не бях само аз. Всички се лутахме, за да открием себе си, без да имаме адекватна отправна точка. Прозата “Имаго” е вдъхновена от този период и е провокирана от реалността, в която съществувахме, без да приемаме. Захванах се да преработя „Имаго” в началото на 2010 година, вграждайки някои по-нови сингли, консумирани от списанието „MyLife” и вестник „Анонс“. Публикуването на книгата е своеобразен snapshot на вече повехнали емоции, порив за освобождаване от един груб стил и еволюирането му в нещо друго, вероятно не по-малко недодялано.

Meet the Author

Plamen Chetelyazov (b. 1982 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria) was awarded BA in Economics of the Social – Cultural Sphere by the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. In 2008 he acquired MA in Media Communications (Journalism, Advertisement and PR) at the University of Plovdiv. In 2005 he participated in the programs for cultural exchange between Bulgaria and the United States of America and spent the summer in Seaside Heights NJ. Plamen works as a curator & PR for the Regional History Museum – Plovdiv. Before joining the Museum he was a probationer at Darik radio, lifestyle journalist at Mylife magazine and an editor at Anonce newspaper. Some of his literary singles appeared in Egoist magazine, Kanape magazine and the Bulgarian edition of Glamour. His first prose called Imago is not published in its entirety. Plamen’s second novel called Paranoia was published in Bulgarian language by LiterNet in 2007. Both Imago and Paranoia can be downloaded for free on the authors smashwords profile. Rough English version of Paranoia is also available.
