For me, the hardest part about learning French is figuring out what the heck native French people are saying, a petty difficult task considering the numerous contractions, liasons and letters that are never pronounced. These CDs really are helpful. First, a conversation is played in real (conversational) speed, then repeated in slower speed, and then played again in real speed. That combination seems to work. There is also an accompanying booklet with all of the conversations written out. The system actually works. The topics are a bit weird (fishing?) and the music annoyingly corny, but all in all the CDs are very helpful in getting one attuned to the cadence and sounds of the language. Was this review helpful?
