Eternity
#7
They said Nothing Lasts Forever
Jake walked down the lonely London streets, pulling his hood a little tighter.
The silence seemed to boom in his ears. Was he scared?
Maybe a little.
But he would never say it out loud. He would prove every single person who ever doubted him wrong.
Jake could rise and conquer. He would.
Jake had been sure of it for eternity. He would rule the world one day. They'd all see, and then Jake could punish them as he saw fit.
They said nothing lasts forever. They were all wrong.
His teachers, parents, the kids at school.
Jake knew something that would last forever no matter what anyone said or did.
It felt good, knowing something no one else did.
A small cold smile slid over Jakes features as he reached into his pocket and fingered a gun with a single bullet loaded in it.
It had taken him forever to finally strike a deal with that gun store owner. But in the end, Jake got what he wanted.
He always did. In the end.
Even if it meant killing someone. He would get what he wanted.
For eternity.
Eternity is a long, long time, Jake thought, but it may begin to give me what I want.
Jake was an immortal. He was going to live for an eternity.
Well, he would be, as long as he put that one bullet through an uncovient witness' heart.
Witness of a crime that the person who offered Jake eternity commited.
Jake pulled his shoulders back and gazed at the moon, which shone dimly through the thick clouds.
A tiny hesitation prickled in Jakes mind.
'What was it? Concious? I thought I rid myself of that a long while ago!' Jake shook his head with a snarl of disgust.
He was coming closer to his victims house.
A tiny tigling of fear was ringing in Jakes ears.
Jake hurriedly dismissed it and quickened his pace, his sneakers pounding against the pavement.
Then Jake heard a voice in the back of his mind-his mothers calm and soothing voice.
"Jake, if you can help it, never hurt anyone."
Why was he hearing this now?! Jake was close to everything he could ever want, and he was letting his Mum get in the way?!
Jake was in a full on sprint by this time.
His Mums voice ringing in his ears, the fear prickling at his spine and raising the hair on the back of his neck, and a dull drumming as his conscious tryed to stop him, or slow him down.
Jake stopped, out of breath. He was a block away from the flat where the witness lived.
Jake swallowed and stuffed all his feelings down, then walked calmly towards the flat.
Jake picked the lock with an experts speed and skill. He slowly pushed the door open then crept upstairs.
He looked at the peacefully sleeping girl.
All for eternity, he thought, pulling out the gun...
~Seqyn &starf
(not my greatest, I pulled an all nighter...6:11 A.M)
