Overview

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…

Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

So Raine comes up with a plan...

She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again. But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

One of the hardest things for me to do is start to read a book and then realize that it is the second or third book in a series, and me have no clue what happened in the previous books. That actually happened to me when I started reading this book. I was a few chapters into it before I realized that I was completely COMPLETELY lost. There were a few times that I actually did consider stopping reading the book, but I pushed on.

After the first few chapters, I was really happy that I did push myself to keep reading. While this is the second book in the series, I was still able to follow the story quite well. There was enough information that was passed on in this book about the events in the first one that I was able to get a rough idea as to what had happened. Now there are still some dark spots, but so far it had worked for me.

I was able to follow the storyline throughout the course of the book without any real difficulty. There were some parts that I did re-read because I wanted to make sure that I was following the story completely. The story line itself was very original in my opinion. There were parts and characters of the story that I hadn't read about before and I think that was part of what intrigued me the most.

The different characters were described in such detail that you could almost visualize them while you were reading what was happening. The tension between Lorraine and Torin was amazing to follow throughout the story. As well as what was going on with the other characters. There were times that it felt like there was just too much going on at the time.

All in all though, I did enjoy reading this book and I will keep an eye out for what is next in the series.

Immortals is the second book in the Runes series by Ednah Walte

Immortals is the second book in the Runes series by Ednah Walters. I was really looking forward to reading this book after the unexpected ending in the first book. I was shocked when Torin's memories were erased. In this book, Raine is determined to make Torin fall in love with her all over again.

Raine is a tough female lead character. She has so many obstacles to overcome but she doesn't let them get her down. Raine is a busy girl between training, school, trying to get Torin to fall for her again, protecting her friend Erik, etc... There's something happening to Erik and Raine has to find out who is behind it before she loses him.

Raine's scenes with Torin were as swoon-worthy as they were in the first book. Even though he is missing his memories, he can't stay away from Raine. It's so romantic to imagine that the person you love would fall in love with you again after having no memory of you. If that's not an epic love story, then I don't know what is.

This book is definitely a page turner. It's fast paced and has so many twists and turns that I didn't see coming! The Norse Mythology is really interesting to me. As a teenager, I had a big interest in runes – I even had a rune necklace. I don't remember what got me started, but I was really interested in the symbols and what they meant. Because of that, I was really drawn (no pun intended) to this series. There wasn't a big cliffhanger like there was in the last book, but I'm still looking forward to reading the next!

Raine & Torin are at it again, but they have a few stumbling blocks to get past - like the fact that Torin doesn't remember ever having known Raine...

And, Raine is in for the surprise of her life!

Great read! Can't wait to share this series with my daughter!

Another winner! This one also includes a glossary which some may find helpful. I personally found that I didn't really need it but it's there if I did which is cool. Raine's growth in this book is awesome. We have some new characters in this one and are going a bit deeper into Norse mythology (which I loved!). One character that I didn't really like in book 1, Andris, is quickly becoming one of my favorites. And another character from book 1 is giving a whole new meaning to cruel (and something of a psycho...at least in my opinion). Once again, Ednah Walters provided a book that pulled me in and didn't let go! WHY didn't I read this series sooner?! If you loved Runes, then I'm sure Immortals won't disappoint!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow! Where do I begin? This book was so good. Really good. Why? Because of Rainy and Torin, of course. No, seriously. It was good because of the super couple, the best friend drama, the morphing, the darkness within, the little "g" god news, the unexpected health crises, the complete about face demonstrated by certain characters, and so much more.

This book had everything! It had love, romance, action, drama, suspense. It was funny in spots. It was sad in spots. It was suggestive in spots. I confess, it had me guessing right up until the end. And once I got to the end, of course I wanted more.

In this book, I really appreciated how the author took her time to explain things in greater detail. I also liked how I was able to learn a bit more about all the other characters. (The biggest shocker for me had to be Andris. What?!?!)

This book delved a bit deeper and had a more mature aspect to it, especially where Rainy and Torin were concerned. This time around, they were able to explore their feelings and their relationship. They shared a truth that brought them closer, despite what they had gone through.

After reading this book, all I know is that Walter's has fan. Book 2 in this series is sensational!

A copy of this title was made available for review in exchange for an honest opinion.

** Possible Spoilers! Read with caution. **

What a delicious series this has turned out to be. Though I read a ridiculous number of books in between reading Runes and getting to Immortals, this story had slipped its way into my heart, and it was really easy to fall right back into the story where I left off.

You know what the best part about this second installment was? Watching Raine and Torin fall in love all over again. Unfortunately that was necessary due to our first novel's cliffhanger twist that left me flabbergasted and spitting out some choice curse words. FORTUNATELY, I got to enjoy the building romantic and sexual tension between these two which Ednah Walters writes oh so well. You want some sigh worthy romance? You sure got it here. It was just as good, if not better, the second time around.

The other thing that I love about this series is how Ednah Walters uses Norse mythology. She doesn't spend story time educating you about it. You are eased into the politics, intrigues and drama of these gods and creatures. Enough to enrich the story and make you understand what is going on and why, but not too much where your head is spinning with information overload.

So if you are looking for a really entertaining, romantic, action packed YA/NA Paranormal series, look no further. Without a doubt, I will be waiting for the next book with much anticipation.

*I received a eBook copy of this book for free to review from the author; this in no way influenced my review, all opinions are 100% honest and my own.*

Immortals Runes Book #2 by Ednah Walters
A great writer of great tales Her imagine and style will me hopefully around a long time.
This book got me so interest right from the start Raine as she is called returns to school after 10 days to find that everyone is calling her a witch for saving most

of the swim team from a disaster. Raine is also knows the man she fell in love with Torin has had his memory erased by Norse evil women who what Raine to

join them instead of the Valkyries The only one that stands up for her is her friend Cora ( or is she) and Eirik who has his on demons to fight. As things go from

bad to worse as she tries to find out where her true path lies the fighting and emotions run high to crazy and the ending is a great wonderful bomb shell for her.
