Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Munroe, founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International and a motivational speaker, already has a considerable following through previous books and a worldwide ministry network. In a style somewhere between that of Rick Warren and Oprah Winfrey, Munroe grounds a simple message of self-empowerment in scripture ("He has prepared a place. Your leadership is in your spot-your area of gifting"). Like popular preacher Joel Osteen, Munroe has a gift for the catchy simple phrase ("Who died and left you in charge?"), but hea's got more theological heft than Osteen, and an interesting personal rise out of colonialism that lends authenticity to his words. Hea's repetitive, but so are most motivational books. More iterations of the servant-leadership philosophy that Munroe espouses cana't hurt and are certainly preferable to prosperity-gospel-speak. This book will please his audience and help him lay claim to a larger following. (Nov. 10)

    Leaders Are Born

A statement from the book, "Leaders are born when people discover their gift and find their place. They must first discover what is inside, ." You may find this worthwhile reading if you would like to nurture the leader that is within you. This book is not about management style or how to climb the corporate ladder; it is more about you discovering your gift, the "seed," that is planted within you and allowing it to come out and be a benefit to others. Inside Myles Munroe explains the importance of finding your place to use your gift in a way that will benefit all the people's lives you "touch" and knowing you are doing what you were born to do, and truly enjoy the place you are at with the gift you have. Read pages 32, 49-51, and 199-200 for insight on how to nurture the leader within you.
