This is one of the best Sci-Fi books I've ever read. The characters and events are compelling, leading to many late-night reading sessions that last far after one should be asleep. The world C.S. Friedman creates here is both a vividly imagined fantasy, and an interesting stage for her characters to work upon. Recommended highly

Very well written, thoughtful, provocative. It's the kind of book that is hard to put down even at the last page.
