Henry has grown up and is dealing with man-sized problems in learning how to govern a kingdom and himself. The twins, Bonnie and Sophie, are growing up, too, and as usual, are always in some sort of trouble. And Ares realizes more than ever that his rule in Westford is only temporary.
I loved how I never knew what was coming next and how grim periods were followed by ones that made me smile. How could I possibly resist knights and ladies and jesters and ransom and secret passages and circuses and betrothals and hanging trees and mouse races? And who else gives her readers all this in one book but Robin Hardy?
