in her shoes review
The book I read was called in her shoes by: Jennifer Weiner. This book is about two sisters who have nothing in common with each other, Maggie was the youngest had the body the looks but was missing the brains she was in special Ed all through high school and then dropped out of community college. However rose on the other hand was the oldest, she wasn¿t blessed with Maggie¿s looks or her body but she made it all up in intelligence she graduated at the top of her at Princeton to become a lawyer at a company called Lewis Dommel and Frank. Rose and Maggie had a hard time growing up their mom had a mental disease and some days were better than others but it was almost always at the girl¿s expense. Their mom committed suicide when the girls were about 7-4, and their father remarried a women names Sydell at first they liked her but then things got ugly. Sydell got on both of their cases on why Maggie wasn¿t smart enough and why rose wasn¿t skinny or pretty enough, this drove the girls insane! When they were all grown up, like children Maggie was the screw up and rose was the one who fixed things. One night rose got a call from a guy at Maggie¿s high school reunion saying Maggie was drunk and needed a ride home, so rose as always got up and got her and to roses surprise Maggie had know where to go because she was thrown out of her fathers house by sydell. Rose decided it was late and let her stay in her apartment for the night. The night turned into three weeks, and in those three weeks Maggie had managed to flip roses life upside down. Creditors kept calling for Maggie who rose of course had to deal with. Roses electric and phone bills were horrendous because of Maggie. When rose finally got the courage to kick her sister out she did and when she got home she wasn¿t surprised to see Maggie¿s stuff al around the apartment. Just when she thought things couldn¿t get any worse she walks into her bedroom to find Maggie in bed with a man, the man turned out to be roses boyfriend! Rose was beyond pissed she started screaming and yelling and before she knew it both of them were out of her life and hopefully forever. Rose eventually quit and got a different job so she wasn¿t near Jim her ex anymore. She hadn¿t talked to Maggie in about 2 months until¿ if you want to know what happened to Maggie and rose you¿ll have to read this book. This book was really interesting and exciting to read. It was filled with suspense and lots of cliffhangers. Maggie was always doing something wrong or that hurt someone and everyone else suffered from it, and just when you think she can¿t do anything worse she does the unspeakable. I was able to fell like I was in the book some of the time, rose and Maggie reminded me of my sister Allie and me we were either acting childish like Maggie or sophisticated like rose. The main conflict was very interesting to me because it had drama detail and in general was just very appealing to me. The characters seemed very realistic because their personalities are normal well not completely normal was their realistic to the real world. The end of the book was good, but I would have to say I prefer the middle it was more interesting and full of information and detail it was always exciting to read more to find out what happened next. The author uses a lot of dialogue in her writing. The author used a lot of vocabulary that was pretty easy to understand, but there were some words that were meant for older people, which made the book interesting and annoying in a way. The authors writing to describe situations, settings, and feelings of the people and places in the book were very unique she had so much detail with so little words she would only say a few words and I can picture the whole scene out. The author had an interesting way of presenting dialogue because she included narrative writing together it was very unique and interesting way of writing, I enjoyed it a lot. I really liked this authors writing style it¿s stylish

She has an exercise regime she's going to start next week, and she dreams of a man who will slide off her glasses, gaze into her eyes, and tell her she's beautiful. She also dreams of getting her fantastically screwed-up, semi-employed little sister to straighten up and fly right.
